Vin
Nice pic of 37884 with it's modified livery.... (A large ROG has replaced the Europhoenix branding) Cheers, Mick It might be a political thing as the 'EU' was the bit you could read because of the logo colour? Austrag
I wouldn't, far too many spalled Victorian bricks. Old Victorian properties are made from soft bricks called stocks ,which are prone to erosion due to the weather and by being neglected. Seeing the extent of damage already, weather pointing and repair of these properties is very expensive. Even the roof is getting attention right now Probably on the cards for demolition in a few years time.

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted April 20, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 20, 2016 Some from yesterday, forgot my proper camera, so just iphone pics, to be honest as I was asked to come in early I also forgot my jacket and jumper so I'm glad it was a mild day! First up I had to collect 37421 from etches park (where I left it in Saturday for tyre turning), turned out it was blocked in by a barrier wagon and the 08 driver wasn't on duty so they very nicely let me drive their 08 as I'm trained on them, I've been eyeing this loco up from over the road at RVEL and today I finally got to have a go! After moving the barrier out of the way it was back into the shed for the 37 Put the 08 away and over to the RTC to attach the 37 to the train we would be taking out The new ROBEL maintainance machine passed us outside derby while we waited for the signal And away we went to Lichfield and changed ends then track recording all the way to Euston PNB and change ends Back to crewe Record back to Lichfield And back to derby And stabled And then home to bed! Old oak common and marylebone tomorrow night
Guest B Exam
Nice pics Jim. Did you enjoy your jaunt through the goods loop at Branston yesterday after the farce with 60001 failing on 6M57? At least Colas helped out with the rescue loco - 60002.

Yeah, not a new bit of track for me but I'm sure some spotters loved marking it off in their quail maps! admiles
Lovely photos there Jim! Didn't the name plate on the 08 used to grace a class 47 way back? I have vague memories of full yellow cabs and a lined maroon body. The RTC 47972 maybe?
RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted April 21, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 21, 2016 there used to be a 47 named midland counties railways (47972?) but he dates on the plate were different i think it was 150 year anniversary as opposed to the 175 year date on the 08 anyway some from yesterday started of driving to bicester to drop off my van and into london these pics are again straight out of the camera, not edited etc, didnt have a tripod or much time to grab pics so had to lean on stuff so some are a bit wonky jumbo jet passing overhead 68012 heading north and over to old oak common, never been in the carriage shed bafore, in fact the last time i was there there were class 50s parked round the turntables during a depot visit! warship 08's, one in BR black, the other FGW green i think 57604 (i think) and away we went, changed ends outside the depot recorded down to west ruislip via acton and greenford loop and back into marylebone and away to risborough where we did an ops stop for 5 mins so a good chance to stretch my legs and grab a couple of pics one tidied up picture and off to bicester where i got off and got back in my van and home
