Preston to Derby last night with 37025 and 37219, go to say they work beautifully as a pair, so much power!

I noticed as I went into the RTC that 'my 08' was overvon etches park coupled to 08899 which I thought was odd, anyway had to wait for my train home at 06:40 and when I walked back to the station I saw a charter to Grosmont was in platform 3 so I wandered off for a nose only to find the 08s attached to a HST!

 

 

 

Turns out it was the 'Pickering Paxman' railtour to Grosmont which was doing an extra bit of rare track/haulage with the 08s hauling the hst complete with passengers into etches park via the wash road where they would be detached and the HST continue via the pilot line towards chesterfield, track that the branch line society have never done before (and some of which will be being ripped up next year during Derby remodelling)

I then got the train home, noticed at crewe there was another tour coming in and heading off to Swansea, so grabbed me a coffee and headed off to nantwich to see it pass through

 

Arriva 153 heading to crewe

 

Then the tour passed through with 37602 and 37605 leading and 57306 on the rear

I saw a photo today of the 08s in the depot with the hst, with large flames pouring out of the exhaust of the yellow 08. Not sure how it is now but looked quite bad

Yeah I heard it had gone on fire or overheated after it got on etches, probably because I told the driver not to break 'my' 08 while it was in the station!

Reported over on WNXX that it suffered an exhaust fire and that there isn't likely to be any major damage to the loco.

Jim your photos are not showing for me, the links don't seem to work on the photobucket site either (for me).

They are fine for me, I've just cleared my cache and history etc and they are still there, are they just not there or what message are you seeing?

 

There was an official statement from Photobucket on their website last week saying if your an existing paid member with good standing then new and existing links will stay active until 1st Jan 2018, I pay my subs through Apple so hopefully I'll be alright

Something weird happening with pictures though. They had mostly disappeared initially but then some, not all, reappeared after a minute or so. Just a link showing to Photobucket which did not show a picture when clicked.

Edit: I found if I went back pages then some pictures also missing but if I refreshed pages the pictures came back up. Not sure where problem is/was. Maybe me even.

When I viewed the thread on the iPad I lost some of them too, came up As null.jpg then there we're just no pictures at all but they seem to have come back now!

now on the PC im getting dead links but the occassional photo coming up, weird, wonder if some disgruntled person has hacked photobucket

EDIT: evidently not, they are back again, i did completely lose the photobucket site earlier but its back again now, im thinking the problems may be at their end rather than my account

Clicking the "broken" images takes me to the photo on Photobucket itself, which does display, but v e r y   s l o w l y.

I wonder if PB is on a go-slow, and the forum only waits for so long before giving up?

I know how it feels. I gave up with PB some time ago. As soon as I entered the site, it was always like walking through treacle, that or traction motor gear case 'motak'!!  and the endless pop-up adds covering dialog that you needed to see seemed to be the only thing on the site that worked properly! Even uploading anything seemed to take an age.

I suspect its probably gone into a self destruct mode weighed down with so much adware etc.

Kudos to Jim and others if they got on well with it, but I found it a pain.

some from today, did some 67 static training then a loco move to barrow hill, used the 67 to haul the 37s to get a bit of handling in

 

ready to roll

 

 

and into barrow hill

 

then we had a trundle to the end of the branch line 'coz we could!'

 

 

 

then back to derby

 

more static tomorrow and a trip to dunbar at the end of it!

4 hours sat backwards on a voyager but finally made it north of the border!

 

 

Never done the ECML north of Newcastle before, stunning scenery on the coast section and glorious sunshine all the way

When I take that photo there is always an OLE mast gets in the picture! You were on the good side of the train - the views are stunning. I never tire of that journey. Even better when it's sunny. Shame about backwards on a voyager.

unfortunately last night's job was cancelled so i had to come home passenger from dunbar 

 

the trip started well, left dunbar on time on this weird looking thing

 

but when i got to edinburgh it all started to unravel!

 

power supply loss at haymarket meant trains couldn't get in or out of waverley for 90 minutes

 

 

i then decided to head out to haymarket on the first train i could so i could catch my southbound train from there on its inward northbound journey to waverley so i could get a seat!

 

lots of different units to be seen

 

in hindsight i should have caught this to manchester and get a train to crewe from there but i like an adventure!

 

 

 

most of these were running 60+ minutes late and were stood in the platforms for a good 20-30 mins to try and get into waverley

 

 

 

 

 

 

all the people on the other platform were waiting for the birmingham train which was in fact the voyager arriving into my platform

 

caught it into waverley and back out again with a nice table seat and charger for my phone, finally got home 6 hours after leaving dunbar!!

Yeah, not entitled to anything on my duty pass, if I had been paying I'd be claiming back 100% if my ticket price as we got into crewe 61 mins late!!

In my neck of the woods I see. Was this for 70802? Apprently the word going around is that 70s are replacing the 60s and FL are getting the seaham flow back. Only time will tell

3 weeks off now, however 2 days in, can you come in and help us out.....

 

Quick trip round Birmingham and back to derby

 

Got in at duddeston and went to perry Barr over to soho back through new st, back through duddeston and back to derby via the cross city line
