And it's 425 and 419 today!

That is odd. I'm hoping to catch them in the station. They're arriving at Bridlington earlier than expected.

They were supposed to arrive at 19:31 but are now arriving at 17:36! I think they've skipped a lot of places that's why.

I went to the station and arrived there 5 minutes before they were due. Turned out that Real Time Trains was wrongly displaying that they'd show up at that time.

Just found these photos I took at Swindon Stabling Point in 1996 (exact date unknown as I stopped writing down numbers on 18 December 1990, last one ever was Large Logo Blue 50036 on its own at this location - I'd been at it since 1967 and enthusiasm for the real railway was waning by then). The negatives will be somewhere but these are photos of photos, it's just faster, more convenient and good enough to show the subject matter!

Why these? The first two show both ends of 37072, the only Class 37 to have non-matching ends - this must have baffled a few spotters in its day! Looks like it has rectangular buffers both ends too. If I didn't know about Engineer's Grey livery (yawn) I'd have assumed it had been released in primer since, other than the running number and overhead flashes it is devoid of any other markings - even a data panel. If modelling this oddity the time spent on the nose-end butchery could be recovered on the livery application.......I wonder how close Halford's grey primer is to Engineer's Grey?!🤔

The following two - Mainline 37372 & 37803 - were in the 1996 pile and I nearly didn't bother with them, until I noticed the different ways that the orange warning and Mainline silver stripes have been applied. '803 even has an extra bar fitted across the radiator side grille to carry the stripe from end to end. I find '372's silver dot in the middle quite amusing for some reason, but then I'm easily amused..... Refurbished '803 now only requires one overhead flash on the side whereas '372 for some reason now boasts five! And check out all that bodyside rippling on both - 37072 looks a real smoothie in comparison! Well, nearly...... Thought this was interesting enough to be bothered to post.........

Just goes to show always model your prototype from a photo! So much variation depending where and by who the livery was applied.

37219 and 37116 top and tail the 1220 Derby RTC to Carlisle test train at Uttoxeter station on Tuesday 8 November 2022.

They got held at the signal for a few minutes, the thrash as they pulled away made me wish I'd video'd instead!
