How do the inspection saloons work, is there driver controls in there?

Caroline is fitted with Blue Star control desks at each end. Usually hooked up to a 37/4 for ETS power and away you go.

Visiting 37/4 37403 Isle of Mull pulls into Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on 25/05/22. The unique single chimney 9F 2-10-0 92134 was on the rear. The 9F would return to the sheds after which the 37 would depart with to 16:30 to Whitby.

I saw it arrive in Whitby and run round its train whilst waiting for fish and chips but I didn't see it leave as we were not near the station.

And one of mine - Leicester TMD last week.... I've just realised it's almost twenty years since my brother and I worked on this one, I remember applying the Tops numbers, data panels and depot stickers at Leeming Bar when it was kept there....

Class 37/4 37422 Victorious at York on 07/05/22. 37422 also carries its BR pre TOPs number 6966. Interestingly, there's a bird on the No.1 end near the window.

I saw 37 422 passing through Carlisle Railway station yesterday, hauling  a 68 dead in tow.  First time I have seen it in this livery.  Class 37 loco group website suggests it worked through to York.

Bit of excitement today in Staffordshire/Derbyshire, as 37218 was summoned to work the 6G94/6D95/6K97 engineer's trips, after the (apparently) allocated 68 was drafted in to rescue a stricken Tesco intermodal. I saw the 6D95 and 6K97 at Stenson and Weston on Trent respectively:

Thanks,

DRS 37422 (or depending on preference 37266 or 6966) out around West Yorkshire on 9th June 2022.

At Elland working 0Z24, York Parcels Sidings to Huddersfield, via Castleford, Bradford Interchange (rev.) and Halifax...

...and working back an hour or so later through Brighouse retracing its route as 0Z25, Huddersfield to York Parcels Sidings...

There's a repeat performance in the schedule for tomorrow, Friday 10th June, for anyone interested.  No guarantee that it will run of course, but times and route given in good faith here;

York Parcels Sidings to Huddersfield - 0Z24

Huddersfield to York Parcels Sidings - 0Z25

I saw the loco a few weeks ago. What is that bird on the side of the loco? Is it a depot plate or something?

It's a cockney sparrow - a graphic that often adorned the side of Stratford allocated locomotives in the 1970s and 80s.  D6966/37266 was allocated to Stratford between 1968 and 1981.
