A quick look at Realtime Trains and I assume from the numerous late running services that there's a problem on the WCML north of Euxton Junction, resulting in the 37 and 68 taking the scenic route to Carlisle.

D05 Preservation Limited’s 37688 ‘Great Rocks’, on long term lease to Locomotive Services Limited, at Deighton on 29th May 2023 working light locomotive as 0Z47 from Crewe Holding Sidings to Scarborough Excursion Sidings.

The 37 was heading to Scarborough to collect 47712 Lady Diana Spencer which failed whilst working 1Z60, Ayr to Scarborough, Statesman rail tour on 27th May.  The return working should, according to Realtime Trains, be 0Z21, 1440 Scarborough Excursion Sidings to (2006) Crewe Holding Sidings.

D05 Preservation Limited’s 37688 ‘Great Rocks’ duly returned from Scarborough Excursion Sidings on 29th May 2023 with 47712 Lady Diana Spencer in tow, although 0Z21 mentioned in my post yesterday was cancelled and an earlier schedule to Crewe Holding Sidings, running as 0Z22, substituted.

Well, who hasn't had something fall from the O gauge shelf above the layout? 😉

If I remember right wasn't the dent caused by hitting a tree(or some obstruction) while working a sandite circuit on the cambrian during a storm
