I came across this. Not sure if l've posted it before. Taken about ten years ago.

On the Cattewater branch through the weeds, now defunct l think though the connection to EMP Metals scrapyard may still be mothballed though OOU.

We went to Northallerton station April 2011 to watch Bittern disguised as 4492 Dominion of New Zealand pass through, and caught these three while waiting. I have no idea of the reason why this happened but it must have had something to do with the pacific because they all passed within fairly quick succession just ahead of it.

And finally 4492

And the same location in January 2012 but travelling in the opposite direction, a Colas 66, but I don't know the number.

A record shot, this normally passes at around 03:30 but was pathed earlier this time.

Eccles Road

12 January 2017 (technically it was the 13 Jan but the train originated on the 12 and it was only 15 mins after midnight)

66764 on 6L52, 19:15, Wellingborough Up TC GBRF - Trowse Yard Redland Siding (23:45) - empty sand (JNA) (running 60 late)

post-6662-0-49398600-1484300681_thumb.jpg

(Yes it was cold, even the polar bears had gone home)

How about some rare shed action?

DB Cargo EWS liveried 66182 leads Pathfinder tours 'The Mersey Weaver II' out of 'The Hole', the line from Warrington Arpley to the down slow, at Warrington Bank Quay working 1Z25 Westbury - Earlestown Up & Down loop. 14/01/17
Passenger trains are very rare through 'the hole, freight trains use it as required, although i've only ever seen it happen twice before.

Annoyingly the sun was head on, making it difficult to try and get a decent shot, but as trains are uncommon through the hole, and passenger trains very rare, it was worth a trip even for a record shot.

Excellent - thanks for posting the photo. I was on the train - it made lots of groaning and grinding noises as it squeezed slowly around the tight curves in the narrow underpass. I had no idea the line even existed! We were told it was the first ever recorded use of the line by passengers in conventional stock (as opposed to a brake van tour).

18 January 2017

Hales Street, Tivetshall

66727, Maritime One, on 6P41, 09:57, Harwich Refinery CRLS SLVS - North Walsham GBRF (12:48) - empty condensate tanks (19 TEA)

post-6662-0-36765900-1484818656_thumb.jpg

(The level crossing is on a skew so although it looks like I'm inside the fence, I'm not - in fact I was about 8 foot from the barrier, the zoom pulls the train in)
