The last remaining regular coal train on the Blyth & Tyne line is this North Blyth - Tees Yard service. The coal is destined for a steel works in South Wales.

With  these coal trains rumoured to be ceasing at the end of this month, the Blyth & Tyne's long association with the movement of coal will soon come to an end.

After your post yesterday, 66736 'Wolverhampton Wanderers' must have done some more wandering as I photographed it today passing through Brighouse working 4M10, 13.55 Doncaster Down Decoy to Peak Forest Cemex.

I'm glad I went out on the 16th March 2020 to enjoy the sunshine, as the timings of future journeys out are now uncertain.  So, here are a few from that trip out to Doncaster...

DB Cargo 66128 leads 6T52, 04.50 Berwick-Upon-Tweed to Doncaster Up Decoy engineers' train...

...with 66164 bringing up the rear.

I know not everyone will agree but I quite like 66503 in the orange livery. having watched the railroad Australia programme that was on tv and seeing the aus version of that livery I think it stands out and is quite striking
