I've just seen a more side on picture of it on WNXX and it really is awful. Absolutely no thought seems to have gone into it. Presumably that large slab of black is to match the ex Grand Central Mk4s so that they don't need to repaint the coaches.

I think it was done with modellers in mind. Easiest repaint in the world, just get a DBS red 67 and paint the sides gloss black. Job done!

Damn sight easier than trying to put the large writing transfers of the DB red message liveries on the ribbed sides!

One from today, due to cancellations and late running I got to be in the right place at the right time. I saw 66734 today as well, and it's definitely a different colour, on the verge of pink. Linked from my Flickr:

Purple Pullman

DB Cargo's purple tribute to the Queen, 67007, sits in Bath waiting to depart with 1O92 for London Victoria. The passengers on board this VSOE Pullman train had visited the city for the Christmas markets. Departure was delayed by 15 minutes due to a criminal attempting to flee the police by trespassing! Had my passenger train home not been running late, I'd have missed both 67007 and the excitement!

007 at speed earlier in the day..Off topic but that 15 minutes is a bit better than the 2 hour delay to Sir Nigel G earlier in the week reportedly caused by a delayed coal delivery at Bristol...

Happy 2023!

First photo of the new year - 67010 passes Bamford bridge in Uttoxeter on the 0925 Toton to Crewe LE working on Thursday 5 January 2023.

The loco stood at the signal near to the signal box before being hand signalled past with the signal at danger - an interesting sight!

At the rear of the previous photo's train was 67025, sporting a few bumper stickers it would seem.

In December 2010 the Cardiff to Taunton stopper was being operated by top-and-tailed Class 67s.  67017 is seen passing Creech St Michael (taken on film and scanned from a print, sorry it's a bit grainy).

Just a couple more:

67005 heads the Northern Belle out of York on 2nd July 2010...

...and 006 brings up the rear.  It comes to something when a royal loco has a plastic sticker for a nameplate... am I just being old-fashioned?

Cheers,

Will

67s in Crewe station

67027 in barrow hill not long after it’s repaint, can’t remember why I took it there, might have been training someone up on them

I had a traction motor flashover on this train after snow got into it, limped it into Marylebone before taking it to Wembley where it got dumped in the turn back siding as it couldn’t get into the depot for some reason

Where were you standing?

on the public side of a low wire fence, just at the point where the high metal palisade fence finished. In the undergrowth, A well frequented photo location in ''fine weather''.

Strange at this spot someone had lifted several cable trough covers on the railway side.

Must be cameras in the trees !

A cropped photo obviously.
