peanuts
That reminds me of the time trains were brought to a stand near Bethnal Green because of a horse on the track. "Sorry for any delay but there is a horse on the track" said the Driver over the PA. Cue lots of tutting, eye rolling and cursing about British Rail and their excuses followed by a horse trotting past the train! reminds me of this extract from the TRB Rochdale 1990 " report via control sheep on line between Rochdale station and Castleton signaling managers T Shepard & B Wooley in attendance trains to be cautioned from R24 signal "

Theo C. Cupier
Going back to the pic of the three young ladies on 7808, it's probably just me, but the middle lass reminds me of a young Claire Barrett, from the BLR programme!

RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted March 3, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 Something bang up to date. As soon as you get your Hornby Class 800 you can run it to Inverness or nearby on a Scottish themed layout - just rub off the GWR logos and you're ready. 800303 at Inverness by Jamie Martin, on Flickr
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted March 3, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 If it's a Hornby RTR, you'll have to remove the logos; they are cast aluminium!
Hesperus
I saw a couple of GBRF 73's running light engine heading south through Ludlow recently. No idea why but I suspect that Network Rail test trains were involved.

RMweb Gold russ p Posted March 3, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2018 I remember late 97 or early 87 learning the WCML from Euston to Stafford and the Liverpool driver put me in the seat on an 87 I would get all the taps in then weak field after going through a neutral section then after a few minutes the it would go back into full field and the taps would drop down. When I got off at Stafford a Eurostar came through a few minutes later so that must have been drawing a load of juice from the wires
