Prototype for everything corner.

Whilst not quite the same, a fair few EWS 66s have had the doors put back on the wrong ends, meaning the gold stripe makes a chequerboard effect

I'm sure one of the silver Corus 60s gained a black door off a triple grey one too

I can remember one or two of the 58's having their doors put back on in the wrong order too

I can't imagine this would happen in the UK...

A quick search brings up these two locos which were resurrected from the infamous Toton scrap line, 60007 and 60059. Both wore Loadhaul colours but before a red dip they were fitted with parts such as roof grilles and cab roof mouldings off EWS maroon liveried examples...

Spain still uses highly  sophisticated lorries for overhead cable maintenance.

About the same as the kit being used to electrify the GWML although it is a lot newer and the cable drums are mounted on the actual lorry chassis instead of a separate trailer.

Thanks,

60092 was a good one, triple grey with many bits in EWS and primer green. Most locos worked a test run or two between overhaul and repaint. 60092 worked trains off Immingham for about a month. It definitely worked the Westerleigh tanks and no doubt did other terminals served from the Lindsey area

A well known photograph but for the benefit of whoever wrote the caption the SK is in blood and custard.  The revived chocolate and cream was applied almost entirely to BR Mk 1s, plus some GW design catering vehicles, the Super Saloons, some slip coaches, VIP saloons and the dynamometer car.

In  Bylines a couple of years ago there was a photo of a single power car leaving Kingsbridge with an ordinary coach in tow.  To judge by the clouds of exhaust the power car was not liking it one little bit.

There are photos online, forgotten where so can't post a link, of a railtour of the Porthcawl branch and other lines in the area featuring a Tondu 64xx and auto-trailers coupled to a class 120 power car.

A coach attached to the rear of a dmu could not be steam heated, so the July date is just as well.

Happens with planes too. You sometimes see a panel on an aircraft in the colour scheme of another airline if a part has been replaced away from base. All the British Airways Airbus 319s that were painted in a “dove” livery for the 2012 Olympics have various bits of them in non-matching colours.

Good job there's only one - or some idiot might say it's a load of bullocks !

If railways closed because of sheep on the track, nothing would have ever run in South Wales; Cwmdimbath features several of them in the four foot and cess.  Ewe 'ad to keep yer eyes peeled...
