Great day at the Pontefract Show and very pleased with the positive comments received. Images are via mobile phone but show some aspects of layout not always seen

All signals working well and has added another dimension to operating a Troutonspost-9435-0-54160400-1422136616.jpg

Well what have we learnt from the latest trip out? By careful arrangement we can run up to 15 different combinations of trains, small medium and of course large.

By Saturday afternoon up and down line operators nearly confident in running three trains at once.

Middle position operator certainly earns a sit down operating depot, scrap yard and the container yard.

Viewers like the variety of trains and loco liveries, everyone wants to see the crane work - so would we Mr Hejan

The additional siding space on the branch worked very well

Viewers interested when trains snake across all the lines

Signals work very well and make the operators run trains more realstically

On the whole good running but lack of concentration late on Sunday meant a Freighliner container train found itself in the depot! Viewers only tell you it's all going wrong as the engine is about to hit the back of the depot.

What do we need to do before Halifax is

Be ruthless with how much stock we need to bring to ring the changes

Add a light system to allow middle operator to take possession of the main line to avoid a HST bearing down on a train crossing

Check all coupling heights

Add working gate to the scrap yard

The layout is looking for further bookings in 2016. If you are interested in Troutons attending your exhibition then please contact

PHD parts to convert Class 150 into the Network version came today and they look very fine! Will have a look alongside the instructions and images that come through on an email and sort to make a plan of attack!

Make sure you have a good supply of patience.......................

Cheers,

Mick

Will create a separate blog on this as will take some time - will be called Class 150 to Dept Class150

But will put some stages onto the Troutons page. The aim is to have it running for Halifax and Warley later this year

What do you get for your money?

Some fine etches, hope I can get some replacement etches and some very nice prototype images via email with a set of exploded diagrams. There are indeed bits that need to be made and as I am using the Bratchell kit there will be changes to made.

Long time no post but a major development in that the crane has been mended! Using the earth pin from a plug Brian milled out a section, drilled out for a bearing and created a rock solid section which the hoist can move up and down. Yet another advantage of being a member of a club.

Small matter of who is going to take up the challenge of retiring the mechanism!
