Bratchell side Bachy 150 The finished article Cheers, Mick

hammer73
Whilst off at xmas decided to have a bit of a kit bash with a Lima 60 body and see if i could smarten it up, and act as a dummy on a Hornby chassis without motor and spray up in Colas livery and heve a double headed unit. I had a bashed up Hornby body so managd to save some side grills and roof silencer, also was kindly donated some shawplan grilles and other bits from my good freind Engine lane for a conversion on a Lima 60 so i got started and have done the following. Split the Hornby silemcer in half to fit on the Lima roof ,cut out body sides to fit the side mesh grills etc.Aslo used plasticard for the frame sides behind the mesh. Fitted the white metal fan unit, added some Horndy horns - made up some new wipers by using left over Heljan and Vitrains bits - added front hand rails and rubbed down ready for primer - had to cut away on inside body buffer beam as the Lime 60 is about 2mm shorter than the Hornby body so that it will fit on the free running chassis. A few pics of the job so far, next stop spray shop.
