A pity it didn't get a clean-up for the event, I think this is the dirtiest 33 I've ever seen! My notebooks say I spotted 33108 at Reading on 5th April 1974, nearly ex-works and numbered on all four corners. I never saw it again like this, nor seen any other reference to it elsewhere, so was I seeing things?! Anyone else remember seeing it?

I realise this is old but - 33036 was cut up on site and in the late 90's it was still possible to find BR blue fragments amongst the solidified piles of cement on the embankment slope ...................... Isn't that the wrong direction for Battersea Power Station? More likely to be Lots Road. Edited May 24, 2023 by John M Upton 1

Nearholmer
I don’t think it is Lots Road, the chimneys look wrong, but they do look like Battersea. is it from some strange angle that does catch Battersea, or was there another generating station that we’ve all overlooked?

I think we can agree that the photo is taken from the central side (though I'm a bit put off by the wall in the foreground) and is looking towards the Windsor line platforms and the footbridge extreme left. You can't really see Battersea Power Station from anywhere on Clapham Jct station without the Victoria - Clapham Jct lines and bridge over the Waterloo lines being visible in front or partly blocking the view. It may or may not be Lots Road that is visible but it is in my view the right direction.
Nearholmer
OK, I’m going to bid that it is Fulham Power Station. It definitely isn’t Lots Road, which is a place I had a deal to do with, so am familiar with its outline. Edited May 25, 2023 by Nearholmer

That link is now bookmarked for further perusal, but a quick glimpse at some of the photos reminds me of visits to Mum's side of the family in Hammersmith, Fulham, Shepards Bush and the rougher parts of Kensington, it was a very different place in those far off days of the early '70s. Right, back on target until the next bit of meandering... Photo by Colin Moss : 6513 at Saltley in 1972...
