Module00
Thank you very much for these explanations. I would like to install semaphores. The PECO model is good for scotland ? Edited June 16, 2014 by Module00
Marcus 37
Hi Module Yes the Peco lattice post signals are good for Scotland. They are probably the closest representation there is. The only other thing is to ask Kevpeo from Loch Dour which signals he uses. Cheers Marcus
Module00
Ok, thank you... Yes i have posed question to Kevpeo.
Module00
What do you think about this model ? Dapol 4L-002-001 Signal - Motorised, LMS home (OOSIGN3)
Marcus 37
Hi Module Lovely as those Dapol semaphores are, they weren't seen on the West Highland lines. They would however, have been seen on other rural lines in Scotland though being of LMS origin. It would be nice if Dapol increases the variety of these signals eventually as they really are cracking models. Regards Marcus.

RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted June 29, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 29, 2014 It's a pity that nobody was able to answer my question of June 23rd... Hi Module00, The signal from Dapol is similar but not the same as the one in the photo. The Dapol one is a supposedly a BR standard tubular post signal. Thanks
Module00
Hello Scottish modeller ! Thank you for your answer ! It's possible to use this Dapol model on my layout without make un big mistake ?
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted June 30, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 30, 2014 Hi Module00, It is possible to use kits to make the correct signal. However, I have a feeling that you don't want to do things this way. The Dapol signal is probably the nearest thing available ready to use and is an operating one. Thanks
Module00
Yes you feel very well ! Ok, i go to use the Dapol Signal.
Module00
Hello, I need some help for my signal installation ! How many stop signs have to I use? How many distant signals? And where have to I place them on the layout ?
Anglian
I've enjoyed following your progress – you take excellent pictures. I like your positioning of details, for example your people and vehicles.
Module00
Hello Anglian, And thank you very much for your comment. No body for help me ?
RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted July 2, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 2, 2014 I would love to help, but I don't have the expertise to. Your photos and plan look superb, but I am not sure which lines, exactly are the running lines and which are sidings. Also which are passenger lines, requiring full signalling and which are not. But good luck with the layout and keep posting. Do not lose heart. Best Regards Ian
kevinklein
try posting the track plan and signalling query in "skills and knowledge centre", in the permanent way, signalling & infrastructure forum, you`re more likely to get a good answer there
Module00
Thanks to all ! V1 and V2 are running lines V3 between A11 and A13 also. All the others are siding lines. I am afraid of not understanding everything. The explanations of the experts in signalling and infrastructure risk to be difficult to understand.I am not very strong in English language. But I am going to try! Edited July 3, 2014 by Module00
jon_1066
Could you mark on your platforms and level crossing(s)? It is difficult to visualise what runs where and why on those diagrams.
Marcus 37
Hi Module Sorry been working night shift the last week so haven't managed to get on here. As Jon1066 says, we need to see the platforms to determine where the signalling should go. Also it looks although you will need a few junction signals to be prototypical, as seen in the picture below. Unfortunately Dapol don't do Junction signals. You could possibly mix and match though with kits of the same type of signal. Cheers Marcus
