coachmann
Specific works plates to go with names were once produced, I think by Lion Fireworks.. Got me in hot water on one occasion though when I fitted works plates to a clients loco thinking he would be pleased it was fully finished off. Not so.....He could read the number on the plate and it didn't match the name. Generic plates with unreadable numbers are much safer!!!! JeffP
CGW USED to do specific plates. I know the then owner Mr Watford still does in 7mm scale with his Severn MIll range.

S.A.C Martin
[broken record] How can anyone say they're ugly when the LNER livery sits so well on them? [/broken record] Mick, just beautiful. I hope - for Graeme's sake and all of us starting our own conversions using his parts (!!!) that an RTR model is at least a few years away. Gives us all some time to relax and enjoy some superb modelling from the talented ones among us. All said mind, an RTR Thompson A2/3 would still be top of my wishlist. The "final" piece of the puzzle in terms of the scope for modelling the immediate post war and British Railways steam era.
micklner
Even if a A2/3 is annouced you wont see one for at least a year ???? As to livery, LNER Green looks lovely on any design on which I have seen , even a J72 looks totally different from one in plain Black . It certainly looks good on a Thommo !! micklner
Upgrades on some Ian Kirk suburbans which I built about 25 years ago. All have recieved MJT underframes which were a much needed improvement. Also changed to NRM couplings which has greatly improved their roadholding on bends.

micklner
A update on a Hornby J94 using RT Models add on parts and Gibson buffers , now ready for paint. I will have to fit the rear steps after paint due to the way the models has been made in sections. Chassis has had new balance weights only.

micklner
My first ebay bargain for quite a while. Picked this up for a song , poorly described as was the level of damage. On arrival I am pleased to say it runs perfectly and judging from the wheel treads has seen little use. As you can see on arrival it is filthy and looks a wreck. A quick clean and other than the obvious front bufferbeam I will have to make ( unless anybody has a spare for sale ??? ). The loco isnt that bad at all. Other parts required are new Cabdoors (I have a Peasholm etch) new tender rear steps again I have etched spares , Lamp Irons for the front end.New Cylinder draincocks for the chassis which is otherwise complete. Re glue some broken handrails and minor touch up on some of the handrail knobs and thats about it. As I have a spare single chimney from the wrecked A4 Hornby Silver Fox body, which also provided the cab for Wolf of Badenoch I have decided to make a single chimney version A4 which I dont possess. This will become Sparrow Hawk in due course. J94 is now in Black and awaits detailing and reassembly Edited April 11, 2012 by micklner
Philip52LC
As a matter of interest will the front lamp irons be etched ones? Only ask as I've a couple of A4's I'd like to bring up to the super detail standard. Thanks Philip
