RMweb Premium newbryford Posted May 16, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 16, 2015 So with not enough 37/4's...... If I go down to Carnforth station every day I wonder what my chance of getting a ride behind either a 57, 66 or 68 will be More likely a 37/6 will be at the other end. kevpeo
More likely a 37/6 will be at the other end. Cheers, Mick Do we know if DRS's coaches are blue star through wired like the Arriva one's? Will the back loco be powering too, or dead? Lots of new ''loco stop here'' boards have appeared on the Furness line! Kev.

I think the plan is to use DBSO's, so I would presume they will be through wired. Cheers, Mick
kevpeo
37 609 is sat in Barrow cs waiting to work the first trip. Kev. Edit - The "gen" is 423 & 609 on the Barrow departure in the morning, and 419 & 605 on the Carlisle one. 409 is the spare. long island jack
Everything seems to have settled down today, after yesterday's trains all running late (30+ at one time, hope know one had connections) running, approaching platforms slooooooooooooooooowly ,no spirited start either!!! here's the players in the pack used so far, taken over the last couple of days, it's playing havoc with my work patterns!!!!! yesterday 423 at Salterbeck 0n the 15.28 WK taken at 16.03 609 at Workington on the 13.31 WK taken at 14.02 today 605 at Workington on the 07.39 WK on time 419 at Workington on the 09.35 WK on time Ray

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted May 19, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 19, 2015 One of my local gen sites is bemoaning the fitment of window bars. Probably a good idea to keep the idiots caged in around the Maryport area. And it means that lineside photos aren't ruined by flailers....... Steve-e
Dalston this morning. As previously mentioned a good time to go is around 08:15 - 09:00 when you get the 2C33 05:46 Barrow - Carlisle loco hauled due 08:21 Then the 6S36 Dalston Grangemouth Tanks provides some entertainment while it shunts and runs round in the station. followed by 2C40 08:42 Carlisle - Barrow loco hauled passing the class 66 on the tanks at 08:51 then 08:55 the tanks depart. Not bad for a village in Cumbria. Here's some pics of the 37's 37609 departs Dalston with 2C33 Barrow - Carlisle 20/05/2015 37423 arrives with 37609 on the rear with 2C40 08:42 Carlisle - Barrow 20/05/2015 37609 with 37423 leading on 2C40 08:42 Carlisle - Barrow pass 66111 with 6S36 Dalston - Grangemouth Tanks. 20/05/2015 Cheers Steve
Steve-e
Here's the video that goes with the pics from this morning from Dalston. not much happens and its a bit shaky as I was recording on my phone but some good sounds as it departs. 37609 leading. long island jack
Am I right in thinking that they historically were because of the lack of space around there? the clearance problems is between Maryport and Wigton at Bullgill ,that's why they had bars on the 1st gen DMU'S, they moved the track closer together under the bridge (when the hoyers started running), if there's was a freight going north/south it's held at Maryport or Wigton, till the north, south bound passenger clears the section!, don't think this applies much now as there's not much freight. Steve-e
Another video from yesterday 20/05/2015 37423 coasts into Dalston station with 37609 on the rear with 2C40 08:42 Carlisle - Barrow 37609 seems more "throaty" even when idling. kevpeo
I saw those on my way home from work! Day off today, so I availed myself of 37 609 to Seascale for 37 419 back. I may even do them to/from Foxfield tonight for a couple of 'jars'. Kev.
