1. Very nice. Do I see a Ladmanlow-style background behind that wall?

2. More importantly, how does the 08 couple to anything? Is this the start of a move to three-link?

Point one. It's my lawn. Not a remote hillside at dawn.

Point two. No. I take my hat off to those that use three links, especially in 4mm.  Having observed CK of the parish operating with them, I have a honestly held belief that I do not have the dexterity or patience to do so.

Simply put, I  would rather shove wasps  up my bottom than put myself through the ordeal of using 4mm three links........

I would imagine that requires an equal amount of dexterity Rob.

Morning all.

Well, the al fresco photos seemed to go down well and thank you all for your kind comments.

Aside from some tweaking of the track, the scenics are just about done now.

However, when I started to "refresh" the scenics I realised I did not have any of the static grass that I originally applied.......What I had differed somewhat in shade. It's not ideal but quite frankly, it will have to do and down it went.

I was pleased to see that the difference in shade wasn't so apparent under natural light. I'm hoping that this will be the case under the usual layout lighting. Fingers crossed.........

Going forward, two things spring to mind.

1. Note the colour (s), blends and manufactuers of static grass used. I'll probably write it on the underside of the layout itself. Hopefully I won't lose that !

2. Keep a bit back as a "strategic reserve" in case of similar "needs to refresh" in the future. Probably store these in a layout specific box.

We live and learn.

Rob.

Superbly placed scenics there Rob. Love the clumps....thoughts for Marsh!🐏😀

MBR stuff is the business. I've tried to replicate Macjek's method but failed miserably!

Thanks John.

The clumps were dotted about until they looked roughly "ish".

I find it best to plonk it down,  walk away and then come back with a fresh pair of eyes......if it looks right, then it probably is !

I totally agree regarding MBR. I have no hesitation in using their stuff again or recommending their products to others.

Morning both and Danke.

Yes, Tim, they are products of  our friends at MBR. However they are no quite as the arrived from Poland.

The bushes to the rear of SD are in fact 'large trees' which have been, ahem...."re'purposed".

As purchased they were nice but a bit 'stately home' in a far too regular sort of  way. Inspired by John's gift of MBR sticky up bush things, I set to the trees and cut off the branches laying out the foliage in a bushy bramblesque manner.

It appears to work. It will certainly do for now.

Rob.

.

Look even better on 'the big screen' than on your phone Mr. Gunsmoke sir.

.

One is (more than) impressed.

.

A closer examination will be made at The Ice Arena; and, if you need a physical needs break, my services are available, free of charge.

.

Now, needs must, one needs to apply static grass to the bonce having torn out clumps of hair whilst swearing at that d*mned  three-way.

Evening Brian,

Oh dear. To be honest, I feared the worst when you left the shop.

With regards to Sheep Dip on Ice, yep, I'll take you up on that and by way of return, I'm at your disposal when you get to the grassing. Happy to help..
