Talking of heart-stopping moments Muz I dreaded turning round whenever I heard one of the empty cassettes at the end of the layout slide over!

There is more 'elasticity' to the wax than setting PVA Andy so it's possible to adjust it before it's finally set. Any stray ballast granules will still unwantedly stick to the sleepers and lift the paint if left - resulting in the need to touch up.
Isopropyl Alcohol is available from most non-high street pharmacies; they may have to order it in for you. 500ml costs around a fiver but I also use it for track and wheel cleaning, paint thinning and removing excess weathering.

You're both absolutely right; the time taken wouldn't justify the cost differential but I think the issue for most is availability and accessibility with most modellers going for the easy life in picking up Peco for the points rather than the alternatives you've given.

It's a lot sturdier than it looks Jack thanks to leg sections at 90 degrees and the rigidity when all boards are together.
Plus I'll opt for using barriers with this version which I hadn't before with K1yhaven as some of the operation will be done from the front. It'll definitely be a 2 person job to keep the activity up.

he's made a lovely job of those Ian; I can see why you took that approach.

Glad to see it's not been all work and no play Mark! Look forward to seeing it again in 3 weeks.

Simple, interesting and rather attractive Al!
Love it. It certainly doesn't look like code 100 in those shots either.

Should be working OK now.

Hope it goes well for you Simon, welcome to the world of early starts.

One of the mods I did on my 33s was to narrow down the Fuel tank saction by 2mm so that it sits in line with the chassis and not the body, I think some of the later locos had this fixed, and yours my be ok but I am not sure from looking at your pictures. Just though it may be of interest to you.
I can see what you mean Peter and I'd say mine was one of the early ones. Did you take the 2mm off the centre section of the tanks?
The sideways slop of the body on the bogies can lead to certain things, especially the horizontal plate from the top of the steps looking too prominent on occasion.
I've been badgering Brian Hanson of Shawplan for laser cut glazing, side grilles to match his other extreme etches and replacement steps/horizontal plates.

Our local independent chemist will order in 500ml bottles for around a fiver which should keep me going a few years as I prefer my clear alcohol to be from Russia or Mexico.

did you consider cutting the cabs below the window line (by the mould line), which would have avoided any potential problems with the curved roofline? - or simply adding a plasticard insert to the buckeye cutout?
I did Dave, I thought it would be easier to disguise any indiscretions higher up if they happened but would feel comfortable in doing it that way after this first attempt.
I happen to have another spare 33/1 that will get the front fill treatment as a comparison to become a green/white lining one for variety.

It's another mongrel, 33/0 body, 33/1 cabs and you're absolutely right, above the windscreen has been changed to green - I only realised when I looked at that photo for the first time!

I've managed to do a decent amount of modelling of late Don whilst not being able to do normal maintenance/development stuff on the software - quite enjoyed it.

That's really quite delightful Mikkel! I really enjoyed that and it brought a smile to the face, thanks for putting the time into doing that.

Is it this part to a fiddle yard or is there much more and is it still being developed?
Keyhaven was an entry in the 2007 Challenge, it's only 48" x 17" but there are expansion plans (but not in a conventional way) afoot.

Only 1cm? Have you tried a wider separation?
I did try (see below) but too wide a separation makes the images too separated and different and the brain struggles to re-assemble it. I think a bit more practice would define an optimum but this would need to be graduated based on the distance of the subject matter from the lens.

HI Andy
Where did you get the 07 from?
?

Andy, could you tell how you did the lettering on the corrugated sheeting of the building.
I'm guessing you got a stencil and sprayed. But really my question is - how or where did you get the stencil.
Andy
Hi Andy,
I downloaded?

You'll get a better product by scouring auction sites and secondhand stalls for the original Airfix kit where you'll get a cleaner and better fitting product. Current Dapol wagon kit offerings are best avoided.
