  1. Hallo, maybe you also want to take a look a Merkur Styroplast retaining walls to see if they are an alternative. It might be too non-UK for your usage. 500mm long 62 mm high and they can be easily curved Merkur retaining walls are available in the UK, the first outlet I come across in the web when searching n gauge retaining walls (I default to google.de) is called "Sherwood Models Online" and have absolutely no idea who this retailer is. es grüßt pc http://www.merkur-styroplast.de/arches:::42.html?language=en
  2. Hallo, found this in YouTube, too good not to post (If the link doesn't work enter "West Coast N Gauge Layout" and the channel is MrGettingtooold) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Rm3ZzL5vQo es grüßt pc
  3. Hallo, I'm now following this thread and love it! Great work and a good Inspiration Keep it up es grüßt aus Herrenberg pc
  4. Hallo, I wrote to Bachmann enquiring about the livery applpication and the reply admits that the omition of the yellow stripe was a mistake, but seems I need better glasses, the FKs did run without 1s on the doors, photo evidence proves that! So 00 gauge is probably incorrect. es grüßt pc edit with a photo link https://www.flickr.com/photos/davidwf2009/5669297949/in/album-72157626607644398/
  5. Interesting to read about the declassified FK on the Motorail Services. I have only see photos/YouTube clips of "classified" ones, with the Motorail added next to the InterCity, the 1 and the stripe. Maybe the running number chosen was one of those declassified versions Anyway thanks for the info, a case of "providing we can find one photo/clip then our model is correct - basta" es grüßt pc
  6. re the '1's: true, I was sitting in the SBahn this morning and my inner voice told me exactly the same and I asked myself why I forgot to write that down! I have eMailed BachFar asking if this is a genuine mistake. Must say I am very surprised that this type of livery error got past QA es grüßt pc
  7. Hattons have them at GBP18,50. I'm in for Dutch and Olive green (if olive green was also a 70s livery? can anyone confirm?) es grüßt pc
  8. Hallo, just seen a photo of the InterCity liveried MK1 FK on the RailsofSheffiield website Can it really be the case that BachFar have forgotten the yellow 1st class stripe? Or did they actually run without the stripe? Motorail versions had the stripe........... Just asking es grüßt pc

    Dapol HST

Hallo. Picture evidence in Google suggests that when the HSTs ran with two catering cars on ECML the buffet pointed towards the cab, but pointing toward the first class on WR (both cars!!), After the buffets were reduced to one per set the coaches seem all be positioned that the seating section was next to the 2nd class which would make sense as they were TRSBs or TRUBs not TRFBs - and this for WR, ECML and cross country sets Hope this helps es grüßt pc

  13. Hallo, If you read the Dapol Ngauge prototype thread there is a link to a website which describes the coaches used. If I remember correctly FO-FO-TRUK-SO-TRSB-SO-SO with the FO at the London end. All corrections to the above very welcome es grüßt pc
  14. hallo, regarding the light packs which I have just seen on your site, are you taking the money now, or are we entering our card details for the money to be taken at a later date? Good move! es grüßt pc
  15. Thanks. I'm in anyway, just wanted to know which version, I expect that most will be the smaller yellow end. Suppose repainting two Dapol RFM catering vehicles, whilst not 100% accurate will still give the look and feel es grüßt pc
  16. Hallo, I entered "Protoype HST" in Google.de and clicked on photos (or whatever it's called) and did not find any difference in the yellow ends in the photos that were displayed, and there were scores of photos. Can anyone enlighten me? What is the difference between Full Yellow Ends and Partial Yellow Ends? Thanks in advance es grüßt pc
  17. Hallo, Some of the picture images are just reworks of others of the same type, right? The InterCity MK1 FK doesn't seem quite right :-) es grüßt pc
  18. Hallo, 1970 brochure as well. Queue a chance to unashamebly (is that a word?) reminisce I remember doing the N-le-W to Stirling in both directions and it was probably 1970 as we moved from the area in 1971. There was a restaurant car on the service, and my father had to "reserve seats" as we boarded. It was 1st come 1st served. For a 9yr old it was something special travelling 1st class and eating on the train. In Stirling on the return journey travelling south we watched the carflats being marshalled before being rounded up for the departure. es grüßt pc
  19. Hallo, I find it interesting that when discussing the EPB it is always a 2EPB. I remember them from the Sidcup line and I always remember trains on the lines to Dartford 1x 4coach, or 2x 4coach or 1x 2coach + 2x 4coach depending on the day and time of day To me designing a 4EPB for N would be of more use and you can sell both versions from day 1 and the centre coaches fall in the bracket "design 1 sell 2", right? EPBs are for me the epitome of 70s commuterland and such trains were nearly always run in multiples. I also expect most layouts wanting to incorporate these could easily run a 4 coach version Please correct me if I am wrong es grüßt pc
  20. I would just like to see the MK2Fs released, and hopefully so that they height-match with the MK1s and their locos.......... Oh, and an RB would be nice, but I doubt that will ever be made es grüßt pc
  21. Hallo freight fans, what are the circa eras for the various Mermaid liveries? Or if I turn the question around, what liveries would be around mid 70s to mid 80s? Thanks in advance es grüßt pc
  22. Regarding the IC liveries, maybe they're still working on a fourth version of the roof colour?? I'll get my coat
