  1. Hallo, I know a modeller who slightly files down the holding pin on the underframe of the MK1 which reduces the height of the Mk1 to that of the MK2. The rake is the same height but the loco is then slightly taller. The difference in height of a MK2A to the (Dapol) MK3 is much less than the difference bewteen a MK1 and a (Dapol) MK3 Just hope the MK2Fs match the MK1s.......... es grüßt pc
  2. Agree... And whilst I admit it is almost becoming an obsession for me ( ), MK2Cs and an RBK [or similar] would round off the WCML stock perfectly
  3. Hallo, The clip behind the link may help for the Blue/Grey period. Great viewing and there are many MK3 rakes. In the MLI Edition on Class 87s there is a photo of a BlueGrey rake with a MK2C BSO between the loco and the first MK3 TSO. As already documented above the BFO were used from the InterCity period, and if my brain is working for the Blackpool run due to short platform length. I have seen photos of it next to the DVT with the "B"part immediately behind the DVT es grüßt pc
  4. Hallo, The poll is now open, time for us to vote for RK(B), RB®........ es grüßt pc
  5. Hallo, Don't know what you mean with "just for a class 50 body"? You get the livery number and name of your choice airbrushed by hand and detail painted by hand to a photograph of your choice, This is then fitted to a hand built chassis (each of his chassis are redesigned for every loco) accurate underframe, and bogies. Before all of this can happen this very same man has designed and tested prototypes until he is completely satisfied that his customer base will be satisfied. The chassis runs and runs and runs straight from the box, never need to oil/lubricate and guaranteed for life, and has a pulling power to beat any mass produced factory model in the British N-Gauge market. If someone chooses to afford them that is his/her choice. If someone chooses to spend his/her money on something else that is his/her choice. And because Chris Marchant has been in the market for 30yrs or so the standard of factory produced models in N has made the advances that it has. His influence should not be understated. AND he sells his product and has no lack of orders so you can only conclude that he has the price set to the correct level es grüßt pc
  6. ....with the Motorail flats being released, there is no excuse NOT to go back to the 1980s. It's only a matter of time You will of course have to get a rake of MK1 FK - actually 2 rakes, one BlueGrey, one InterCity Motorail just sayin es grüßt pc
  7. Hallo, Post Nr. 77 has the link to the flickr site where I saw the photos. Thanks for replying, must be the same photo es grüßt pc

  9. Hallo again, here the services and dates referenced with MK2c stock: Olympia ->Perth 09.81 MK2C FK x5, BFK, Carflat x13 Olympia ->Perth 05.81 MK2c FK x4, MK1 RBR, MK2c FK, BFK, Carflat x12 All other "classic services" with carflats are referenced with MK1 Wonder if any of the RMWeb community can comment on the accuracy. I've always viewed Rail Express to provide reliable Information. es grüßt pc
  10. Hallo, Thanks for the reply and the link to the site. I have a copy of an earlier edition of Rail Express which featured Motorail services and the MK2s which were referenced in the article were identified as MK2Cs es grüßt pc
  11. Hallo, These would have been MK2Cs, now there's an interesting proposition. Picture this: a manufacturer finally decides to produce MK2Cs......... hmmmmmm es grüßt pc
  12. Hallo, just seen this thread. October 1974 Railway Modeller has a plan Euston Minor with 7 platforms. It is actually a two track main, loco line to "Camden" and a track which dives under the main, however tweak the throat would allow all four lines to access all platforms. If you do not have a copy of the plan let me know and if you wish I could scan the side and send it to you via message as I'm sure reproduction here would infringe copyright es grüßt pc
  13. Wow, I have this edition of Railway Magazine............ The staples have worn through the cover but otherwise in good condtion. If I remember correctly it was bought for me on the strength of the cover, I lived close to Liverpool at the time and had just been on a trip to London Euston. Whilst always being a WCML addict (from my even younger days in Stafford) this sealed my fate. es grüßt pc
  14. DM Toys posted this clip from YouTube (in Japanese) on their FB page es grüßt pc
  15. Thanks for the honest Report. I was wondering about the quality. The Hobbytrain tamper was also not that brilliant if I remember correctly. Will be interesting to see in any of the Greenmax models are of a decent quallity es grüßt pc
  16. Hallo, just an FYI to say that this is finally available, here in Germany €169,99 analog, €249,99 digital es grüßt pc
  17. Hi Ben, I would expect the version 3 to be the most popular (BR Blue, branded BR1 bogies). If the pre-orders of this variety were to be more than 500 are Farish (or should I say the factory where these are produced) flexible enough produce to satisfy demand? Another point, I have also read and fully understand post 59 on tooling for cars, sounds similar to the passenger coach "catering car" syndrome (no matter what you produce someone will complain). I wonder whether it still would be useful to contact Oxford to ask them to develop up another 1970s car. Models that come to mind are: Vauxhall Viva, Morris Marina, Triumph Dolomite, Rover 2000. They simply are part of that decade I don't think I will be able to repeat often enough how much I am looking forward to these models. es grüßt pc
  18. Hallo, Thanks, the Laptop where I had all my favourites saved died and I'm trying to find them again. es grüßt pc
  19. and of course I cannot remember where exactly, but I have seen a photo in the net of the Brockenhurst portion of the Motorail Service to Stirling with 4 coaches, 2 sleepers, and 2 day coaches I like this photo in the net showing a RR on a Anglo Scottish service!! http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scot-rail.co.uk%2Fphoto%2Fscaled%2F17642.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scot-rail.co.uk%2Fphoto%2Fscaled%2F17642%2F&h=529&w=800&tbnid=b71abvuyF_TYlM%3A&docid=t_LXWdtcqFwSqM&ei=DQiOV4WUJIKiU7vfhPAL&tbm=isch&iact=rc&uact=3&dur=394&page=1&start=0&ndsp=38&ved=0ahUKEwjFzoXTr__NAhUC0RQKHbsvAb4QMwg2KAwwDA&safe=active&bih=950&biw=1920
