http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-40227412 --- I don’t suppose HRH will be in a two car unit, all stations...

Hang on to your hopes, my friend That's an easy thing to say But if your hopes should pass away Simply pretend that you can build them again Look around The grass is high The fields are ripe It's the springtime of my life

No Scouts tonight, cue Life on Mars on TV and a cold IPA, marvellous :-)
-
In the loft, loosening up my Webb tank nicely, beer in hand. Bliss...
-
Gardeners questiontime, making me feel better about our scruffy back garden, apparently it's better for wildlife, insects, birds and stuff

What's with all this weirdness, am I just getting old?

Musing on the Layout Topics thread, impressionistically the main topic for layout projects appears to be BR sectorisation and privatisation period followed by WR steam? Would be curious to see a proper analysis done on this based on layout descriptions!

Sounds a bit like my own layout plans! There's nothing like having some variety - for me, 1930s LMS, plus a bit of pre-war SR when I fancy it, then 1958-92 Eastern Region (ex-GER/GNR), steam and diesel, plus a few green diesels of the LMR and WR, then BR Blue D&E, 1974-1982! No wonder I am getting nothing done...

I seem to be spending more and more of my RMWeb time lingering in the SG Industrial Modelling section, the new DJ Models Austerity and the forthcoming Hornby Peckett getting me thinking...
-
Just realised rmweb has grown, new sections on narrow gauge and garden railways and model engineering, I'll now be spending even more time on here!

been boxing up some of my stock in the loft ready to make some progress on the boards and proper track laying at last - I cannot believe how much stuff I have acquired over the past few years, it's a bit sobering really...
-
admiring the Bachmann Scenecraft Coaling Stage (44-048) just acquired at the local show for the princely sum of £19!
-
I like the 'load more topics' bar at the bottom of each page, or was it there before and I missed seeing it...?
-
Nice to see I am so "average" in my modelling spend according to the poll - I showed this to my wife to say, 'look, it's not just me that spends £XXXX' on trains...
-
Oooo, The Golden Age of Trams on bbc4, that's my evening viewing sorted
-
Good to see at least one platform ender at kx.
-
Hmm. Charged £4.50 for 2nd class delivery but only £2.85 on the envelope, was the packaging really £1.65?
-
just acquired 3 old Hornby Midland clerestory coaches to go with my 1000 - for their age they're actually impressive looking models, they certainly look the part.
-
Run-in my new Bachmann Peak, all good, time now for a sausage sandwich and mug of tea.

Becoming a convert to Radio 6.
