  1. Interestingly Royal Scot 46100 was on a railtour to Paignton etc. Everything ran pretty much to time...which was a surprise frankly...although there was bit of single line working... https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U54616/2023-10-18/detailed https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U54620/2023-10-18/detailed Chris H
  2. Maybe I should possibly have added more detail..this was 6M67 with 88 007 Electra and 60 019 Brutus seen at Bedminster near Bristol TM today with 4 FNA-Ds (which is certainly a personal record for me)
  3. Seems like you've finished an important part of the layout just in time to forget to load it into the Sheepmobile....
  4. This is a TPE 68 DRS 88 combo today.. https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:H31545/2023-10-19/detailed
  5. True Even many commercially available booths have small print somewhere suggesting they are not suitable for solvent based paints...although as with anything its up to the individual modeller to weigh up their appetite for risk - both in terms of probability and impact. Chris H
  6. My instruction leaflet says M2 x 5 - and they are cheeseheads Chris H
  7. Thanks - that explains things hopefully.....doh...
  8. I know this has been covered somewhere but I can't find it - the speaker clips needs screws - I have two locos to do - what size are they and where can they be obtained? Surprised they were omitted frankly. Chris H
  9. Down south on flasks as well...Bristol 24 May 2021 6M63 (with 68016)
  10. I've simply given my view, I paid to go, I also paid a lot more for fuel as a Saturday visit by train was not practical for me, I left when i was ready but I had real concerns about the crowding. I'm sure no one set out to create such an environmnent but if those numbers are expected the environment should be suitable and safe. When I left at about noon it was rammed inside and there were lengthy queues to get in. I'd like a good show to be popular, busy and safe....I've been to a few crowded "Warleys" and left after about 4 hours but I never worried about crowd safety.........
  11. I did pause before I posted this mainly negative offering but I think it needs saying. There was an unexpectedly (to me at least) long queue of advance ticket holders when I arrived about 0910 on Sunday. Hornby Mag staff were helpfully moving down the queue with hand held tablets so we could log our Car Registration while we waited. I did advise the Hornby staff that the P&R signs directing people to the off site car park on Saturday were still out. Got in about 0940 and first hour was tolerable, second hour seeing layouts was problematic and by 1200 I decided enough was enough despite having made a 2 hours 30 minute journey to get there. My experiences are likely to mean I won't go in 2024. Probably the most over-crowded exhibition I've ever been to. FWIW I'm 6'2" and fit and still felt pushed around and bashed by some of our less socially aware or caring brethren. I was genuinely very concerned for folk of smaller dimensions especially children. Chris H
  12. Mr Waterman was out in the crowd explaining the problems and maintaining morale. His layout is a truly outstanding enterprise despite the frequent problems it experienced... Maybe he needed some help...
  13. My photos from the day are here (captions to follow). Click on the photo:
  14. Someone I know who went today says tomorrow will be the same...anybody know what is actually happening...advance ticket or not the petrol cost far outways the ticket price...
  15. I'm driving up from Bristol tomorrow. Hopefully parking will be a bit more straightforward..
  16. I'm there tomorrow. Sorry you had to put with Steve. Just saying...
  17. If not I'm sure there will be plenty of willing volunteers at hand.... Chris H
  18. So now we have thread creep about thread creep.....such is life... 😉....
