  1. May 8th is David Attenborough's birthday so could they be jumping on the bandwagon by announcing their 1st plastic free loco?
  2. I posted this on the other Hattons thread as I couldn't find this one at the time. Can only speak as I find but never had a problem with hattons (only 1 loco returned in N years) Ordered loco and 2 coaches online 1:31PM yesterday (Sunday) - delivered here in West Wales (by Yodel!) 1:06PM today (Monday). Well done to both.

  4. Hattons have Bachmann plain black 64xx for £74 + p/p which seems quite reasonable - only 9 left at time of writing. It was 10 but I caused it to go down. http://www.hattons.co.uk/60878/Bachmann_Branchline_31_636_Class_64xx_0_6_0_Pannier_tank_6417_in_BR_black_with_early_emblem/StockDetail.aspx

  6. Yeah but you can draw the same conclusion with cotton buds Hat, coat, door etc
  7. Pedant mode on: There is still the long established foot crossing just west of Amersham. Albeit this is on a section of line between Amersham station and the Mantles Wood boundary. It's not electrified track but is LU/TfL signalled. Pendant mode off.
  8. If you go to Ireland you could have a distant shot at home at the same time. Not sure if any are left. This was Annacotty in 2008 on the Limerick-ballybrophy line so may still be there.
  9. Oh dear, wasn't that an early plot in Doomwatch where something like this got completely out of hand?
  10. I had reason to search for Aymes shakes (a sort of Complan me-too). If I'm reading this correctly a box of 7 x 57g packets comes in a total package that weighs 150g. Delivered by Tardis? https://www.weldricks.co.uk/products/aymes-nutritional-milkshake-neutral-flavour-sachet-57g-pack-of-7
  11. Didn't you realise DFS had a sale on when you bought that?
  12. I think this is recent? Apols if not. Rails have 4 x Portholes in Crimson/Cream for £99.50 + p/p though does seem a lot of 1st accomodation for a 4car rake https://railsofsheffield.com/bundles/5/-porthole-bundle-set-of-4-br-crimson-cream-lms-porthole-coaches
  13. Tks but shops are few and far between in west Wales, let alone audio ones, hence the need for recommendations! Sony is a non-starter as per OP, but tks for info re Sennheiser as I was starting to wonder if they weren't as good as they were.
  14. Train heading into the clouds just south of Filisur shot from our hotel balcony 02May09 No need to change tack yet?
  15. Armistice on NG and a monorail brick carrier - Amberley 06Jul09 Feel free to do as you please

  17. Not a direct answer to your question but may be a clue? I'm using Firefox on Win7 and it won't open, but I can see it won't open 'cos I have Adobe Flash disabled ever since they started producing bug-ridden updates at high frequency.
  18. P D Hancock for Craig and Mertonford, has a big impact on the teenage, me seeing his layouts in RM
  19. Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen - Sam Cooke
  20. Easily missed! Post #580 has details of loco, loco+tender, tender (592g for loco+tender)
  21. TBH I find all the mats a bit lurid in one way or another (Javis, Noch, Gaugemaster etc). However, as mentioned above they can be a good way of covering an area quickly and then using it as 'undercoat' for spreading mixtures of scatter or static grass on top. The area to the front here is Gaugemaster summer mat but then I added lots of small areas of static grass 'the same but different' if that makes sense, to get some shading. rev IMAG0190 800px by Sarah S1ddons, on Flickr
  22. Larry, did you reline it as well, or mask the lining carefully and just redo the paint? Tks
  23. We have fairly recent Samsung smart TV in the bedroom. The Head of Household would like me to get some headphones so she can nod off if she doesn't want to watch the same as me. Ideally I'm looking for something £100 or below, easy to install/use, ie plug something into the TV and not have a wire from TV to headphone. Am not looking for hi-spec just something that's reasonable price and reasonable quality. Preferably not Sony as they seem to have an annoying feature of switching off after 5 mins to save battery (and yes there are workarounds but the current ones seem to reset themselves randomly).
