  1. They also have triple sets of weathered Mobil tanks for £29.95 (120 sets in stock)- 37-675U - they look reasonably well weathered to me. Am tempted to start trawling through all the other items. They must have a HUGE amount of capital tied up in all this
  2. They've also poked their noses into the Iditarod - I'd set the dogs on them myself
  3. IMG1 by Russ Davies, on Flickr Northbound Through Lower Holloway - Class 31 by Barry Lewis, on Flickr Winter Vans - 73 113 by Barry Lewis, on Flickr
  4. They might be able to take their time. America yn gyntaf (America first)
  5. I used to live in High Wycombe where The Swan always had a varied programme through the year. I know a couple of the ladies who were part-time usherettes (presumably paid per-evening) wouldn't do Doddy - not because they didn't like him but simply he gave peope their money's worth and went on and on and on, and they couldn't rely on what time they'd get home.
  6. His granddad used to drive it
  7. Another cement works, this time it's Platin Oct 2008
  8. It's here (you need to scroll down some way but it's worth it) http://www.annesleyfireman.com/id8.html
  9. Toton 18Oct05 and a pair of MML power cars deliver a carriage (probably for tyre turning)
  10. Probably lower track access charges than ones with intermediate trailers. The Scots are reported to be 'frugal' though I believe Yorkshiremen find them profligate. Hat, coat etc etc
  11. The poster of this pic has captioned it as a Crowborough to London Bridge working passing New Cross Gate. Is this mis-identified or were there drags in those days? NXG Crowborough to London Bridge June 1965 by John Oxlade, on Flickr
  12. The Sun Has Got His Hat On - Ambrose and his Orchestra (no discussion about the lyrics please)
  13. Line of cabooses (cabeese?) University of Louisville KY 29Jul06
  14. Not having a go at you but out here in the sticks some sellers will be between a rock and a hard place. Nearest PO is 4 miles away which isn't bad when you consider how far some people have to travel to get to actual PO, but isn't on a direct bus. Nearest PO on a direct bus is 7 miles away. So a courier who collects from house (especially if you have infirmity etc) can seem more attractive, at least intially. I've seen sellers inluded the description like 'I can only post Weds and Sat' or somesuch. No idea if buyers are sympathetic when they give feedback - I suspect not all are. When I was a seller (not sold for about 5 years now) I never failed to post either the day it was paid for, or next working day, and sent buyers updates, yet still some scrotes don't give you a 5 when answering the question 'how quickly did seller dispatch item?'
  15. That last one reminds of the time a few years back when the Girl Guides organisation asked the girls what courses/badges they wanted that weren't currently offered. The respondents answered with a list of various things, of which one was sex-ed which got all the publicity in the papers. The strange thing (to me at any rate) was none of the rags actually thought to come up with a design of what a sex-ed badge might be like
  16. Someone with a score of 2. What's the betting he* gets cold feet and doesn't pay? *other genders available
  17. This old pic looks to have the same windows albeit the Up side of the station http://i1.wp.com/www.adrianvaughan.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/2580.Slough-c1921-copy.jpg

  19. Great choice in having a Mrs that does crafting. All crafters (especially quilters) have their 'stash'. It's their equivalent of our bits box and they have far more than they can ever use - just like us having 6 times as much rolling stock as we can ever run at once.
  20. Keep the toilet. Although you're probably not thinking of selling as you're re-modelling, it's a good selling point. Our previous house had upstairs bath/toilet and the people we bought from had included a downstairs WC (albeit with very small basin). When friends with small kids visited they always commented on how useful they'd find it if they could have one. Even if you don't have little ones there's always the liklihood that some time in the future you'll injure your foot/leg etc, or just be ill enough that you can't go to work and don't want to drag yourself upstairs every time you need the loo.
