  1. I'll just leave this here. Click on photo for caption.
  2. A diesel brake tender with express headcodes and Newton Chambers car carriers in the consist to boot. Click on photo for caption about this rescue job.
  3. That shot at Dunsfold reminded me. Don't you feel old realising the Hawk is a 50 year old aeroplane? My first shot of one was Farnborough 74. My next one was XX154 at Dunsfold Jun75 undergoing external load trials.
  4. James Bond didn't need a cockpit either. Wallis Autogyro G-ARZB 'Little Nellie' from You Only Live Twice, Dunsfold Jun75 with Cmdr Wallis almost at the controls.
  5. GS47 lurking round the side of Cobham Bus Museum early 70's. The inscription on the side reads 'St John Ambulance, London Prince of Wales's District, London Transport Corps'
  6. I'm in a bit of a quandry as to how to weather this. Has anyone done one, or can point me to a 'prototype' pic to copy (I realise it's a work of fiction but can anyone recommend something suitable)?
  7. Something a bit different to park in a siding awaiting attention
  8. Llwyncelyn (near Aberaeron) Sun 13Aug https://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/event/y2023/25203-AeronValleyRailwaySociety_Exhibition
  9. Orignally produced by Mainline (and also went through a period of being produced by Replica?)
  10. Up until yesterday Ovo weren't publishing the actual rate per kWh, just saying the price cap is being lowered and being very coy about the actual new rate. Today I find the price per kWh has gone down by 11pct from 34p (incl vat) to 30.2p* (incl vat) for the 'normal' rate per kWh (excludes change to standing charge). Given the price cap has gone down by 17pct I'll be looking elsewhere if indeed there is anywhere else yet. *28.78 + 5%
  11. The Alexander bodied Swifts were probably the most elegant vehicles in the London Country fleet and also very nice to ride in as a passenger. SMA2/17 at West Croydon Jun78. SMA18 at Kingston also Jun78. SMA20 at Crawley on bus work, undated but probably late 1975.
  12. Was 8763 the only one to carry BR mixed traffic lining in service? I know 9600 has carried it in preservation but did any others carry it for real?
  13. As they used to say on Bullseye 'here's what you could have won' (Willesden area 08Aug 2000)
  14. Careful what you say on here folks - the internet never fogets. Must admit I don't think I've ever been quoted on a 9 year old post before! 😇
  15. ...and there's plenty more to keep you going. Youtube has about 275,000 hours of content added daily.......
  16. I don't see why not - if they want a sale and it's a likely deal breaker then any good sales person ought to accomodate you.
  17. We're not alone, you only have to look at nearby countries for similar fiascos. Berlin Brandenburg airport and SNCF ordering 2,000 carriages that were too wide for platforms to name but 2........
  18. Back in the Spring of 1974 I made a trip from Southampton to Alderney and back with Aurigny. Islander G-AXWP at Southampton on the way out, and Trislander G-AZLJ at Alderney for the return. That Trislander was a real beast and amazingly powerful compared with the twin engined Islander.
