  5. Dipole Digest also making noises about an August delivery "being achievable" - here's hoping...
  6. Thanks for your reply - so presumably I just snip them off the 8 pin and connect them directly to the lighting unit?
  7. I'm with you - I'd been looking for an excuse to add one of the new sound deluxe 47s !

  10. I'm going to apologise in advance as I suspect that my query will have been answered elsewhere. I've bought an Express Models lighting kit for a Hornby 47 and have also purchased a Loksound 5 decoder. The Express instructions state that for a four function decoder (which I think mine is) I should connect the wires on the lighting kit to the corresponding coloured wires on the decoder. As the attached photo hopefully shows however, the lighting kit has yellow, green, blue, purple and white wires whilst the decoder has red, black, white, pink and green. If anyone can tell me which wires to connect together I'd be grateful. I've emailed Express but haven't had a response as of yet. TIA
  11. I'm also having some issues with these lights and wonder if anyone can illuminate me (please excuse the pun).... I have wired the unit up as per the video that Everard Junction posted a while back ie the yellow and purple wires are connected together to remove the need for the hall trigger, the white wire is essentially redundant and the remainder of the unit is wired as per instructions with a resistor added. All that seems to happen is that the chip gets extremely hot and the LED is very dimly lit. Ive experienced this on a number of chips and also with different harnesses - any ideas?

  14. A few shots from my recent YouTube Summer update video
  15. I'm probably long overdue adding my layout to the BRM collection but better late than never. Tileford is a fictitious location on the Great Western mainline with elements of the stations either side of Reading (Twyford & Tilehurst) as well as hopefully giving a bit of a sense of the line towards Paddington. Whilst I predominantly try to keep the rolling stock reasonably authentic, Rule 1 applies which means that in addition to the usual container, aggregates and fuel trains you may encounter the odd steel train (presumably lost en route from S Wales), as well as some nuclear traffic and an occasional rail tour or two. The track is code Peco 70 and the layout is DCC sound with an ECoS ESU control system. I hope that Tileford will be a positive contribution to the BRM community.
  16. Lovely looking layout - looks like I'm late to the party but better late than never!
  17. Spoke to Tom earlier this morning about an amendment to my order and he was super helpful despite being on his own. Look forward to receiving my Locomotion Deltic in due course.
  18. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere on this thread but has anyone been successful in fitting a driver in the cab? Its not immediately obvious how one would go about doing this and I'm reluctant to cause any damage.....
  19. Interesting to see what liveries are being produced in N gauge - from a selfish perspective I'd like to see the Toux and Cappagh versions in OO.
  20. Try Silver Tay models - the owner produced a set of nameplates for one of my Westerns from a photo and did a lovely job
  21. If we're going into full on fantasy mode I'd love to see Accurascale do justice to the new CrossRail trains on The Elizabeth Line - id even be happy if they weren't prototypical length!

  23. Stunning work Andy - you clearly have a very steady hand and patience in abundance for some of that detailing!
