  1. I think he must have legged it down to Peterborough because I was standing next to someone of the same description.

  4. The coach kit went on Ebay a couple of days ago for about £80.00, I'd put a sniper bid in for £60, didn't realize they were so sought after.
  5. Thanks Pete, I think that, given the various issues raised in the different threads that were revealed in the suggested search, I will probably not bother to purchase the document. I'll try to get a copy of the Oakwood press publication instead, although that is proving dificult at present. Regards
  6. Saw this on Facebook today, tried to contact the owner but he hasn't been on FB since June. I have done some searches using the title of the booklet but nothing specific comes up, I think the author is "Dave Hulls" and I can't make out the publisher. It looks to me like it would have been published by a specialist group, but I can't make out the logo in the top left hand corner either. This was cropped from a photo' of 4 books, all the rest were in perfect focus! Can anybody shed any further light please? regards
  7. Thanks Mark I was hoping that was the case regards Tony
  8. Thanks for this Paul, Now can I ask, would the minerals wagons have riveted side doors or pressed side doors or is it not that important at 1/76th scale? Regards, Tony
  9. Thankyou for your reply. I have seen these before and they are good (to me anyway) for getting the general feel of the tramway. My knowledge of wagons is is quite limited though and so what I am hoping for is an explicit description of the stock used. regards
  10. Hi, I have a couple of books (Branchline to Upwell and the wild swan publication) that descibe the route, buildings and locomotive power in some detail but are a bit sketchy on the wagons and brake vans. I would am planning a layout set in the period when the Drewry shunters were being used and would like to put together a couple of representaive goods trains. I believe - and my knowledge is limited, that 12T fruit vans would have been used, I have seen what appears to be 16T mineral wagons but not sure which type and also planked wagons. Is there a source of info that would help, and can anyone tell me what to look for in the RTR or kit world please? regards Tonh

  18. It's popular abroad though, and earns lots of revenue. On a memorable visit to an heritage railway in the US as we arrived the radio announcer on the station they had on was talking about a shooting that had taken place in a local cinema, someone with the hump and a semi-automatic decided to take it out on the people in the audience. My wife mentioned it to the ticket seller who said, oh, it's nothing and you're from England, we would much rather talk about Top Gear! I told him I wasn't a viewer, the conversation then seemed to be over
