Having a whale of a time?
Don't listen to these urchins and minnows; they're talking pollocks. You can try and winkle it out of me but my lips are seal and I won't tell a sole.
It'll all fall into plaice tomorrow.
You forgot bloater in all that fishy business.- 1

I'll have those Kevin if they are still going. 17.53 Wednesday 17th.
A bit early for your usual modelling period my old Janner although they are lovely models. -
Found it but don't try ringing the number to order some coal... 🤣

Certainly John @checkrail although my photos were lost in the RMweb crash. POWsides do a six plank wagon , Beer and Co. of Kingsbridge, a local coal merchant with the option of two running numbers [No1 and 2 ] in both transfers and kit. There's a very nice advert somewhere .

Thats good to know, I quite fancy getting one of the kingsbridge wagon
There’s a rather nice photo of the Kingsbridge coal wagon in an early newsletter by the Great Western Study Group. Researched by Steve Manchip , maybe @RapidoCorbs could do it for us in their range.- 1

I'm really torn between placing an order for a couple of them, or buying 4 pre lettered kits from POW sides. They do look rather nice!
POWsides have a long waiting list at the moment, not a great service.- 1

Apart from Gibson wheels, what treatment will these get John @checkrail

Love those van C 's @Tony Teague and always handy to tag on for operational interest. I have a couple that are filthy.

'A few pages back' ? ...... that's half a thread back and fourteen months ago - no wonder I'd forgotten !
My mistake, it’s on page 1936 of the A Nod To Brent thread @Wickham Green too- 1

Without reading back through all sixteen pages of this thread, has anyone noticed / commented on the 'ghosts' of ironwork on the replacement door and timberwork on 943009* ................ a nice try, guys - I've just added the freshly replaced unpainted planks on mine.
* O11 No.86140 appears, thus, in the original ( 1971 ) GW Wagons book.
@BenL commented on these a few pages back that he thought Rapido had done a good job of representing them.- 1

Maybe 30A fuse wire would be the better option then.

Look right to me and having used them they are a superb casting easily fitted with the glue of your choice.

However, the issue might be in getting some Dean buffers for the carriages. The last time I looked at MJT they were having issues in getting stock. I think there was an issue with the supply of castings.
Their steel heads are also always out of stock too.- 1

That's one of the best recreations of the Dean-Churchward brake handle I've seen on a model.

Seen on Facebook and we see Grange class 6880 Betton Grange looking splendid in the spring sunshine. A lot of hard work, patience and deep pockets from those involved to get to this point.

On your Accy Nana Vans, are your Hunts (the Extra Close for NEM) the new ones with 'Collars'? I ask as I've just received my new ones (with Collars) and these look quite different to the ones I had and struggled somewhat with on my Nanas; (didn't have a tight fit in the Van hole (ooooh er misses).
Yes and they are slightly loose in the nem easily sorted by adding a slip of card .

Cruel in close up as we now see my old Wrenn loriot with its plough load now tied down using rigging rope. Looking forward to doing something similar with my LMS liveried lowmac when released.

What exactly is different from these to the Loriot P?
As Corbs said above, buffers and axleboxes, etc. Is there anything else?Would the buffers and axleboxes be the same as on the Loriot Y?
I'm currently working on an old Wrenn model and looking forward to doing something similar on the Rapido lowmac.

The Replica version is the same colour as the Rapido model. Did you see that photo in Google images of one in the siding at Pontypool Road.

A bump for this thread for a video from Sam's Trains
I was hoping Bachmann would do another run of these to give another running number but I don't think the first batch has sold out. I agree with his view of the Cromwell tank and would rather the model came without it. Interesting price comparison with the Hatton's/Accurascale warwell.

This might have been answered on this thread (or elsewhere already), but why did the wartime bauxite-painted vans have a green stripe?
@Wickham Green too suggested it was a wartime measure and banana traffic specific.

No hardship, we’ve seen their black five so maybe not a bad thing letting someone else do some Southern stuff.
