  1. Sorry to hijack this thread Tony but I'm interested in your fixed raked coaches and the connections between them.I know you use a soldered wire hook and a bar but how do you fix them to plastic bogies where you can't use a soldering iron.Is there a glue strong enough for a layout use rake being pulled.I have a rake of the old Airfix/Mainline siphons and want to get the gangways nearly touching if possible.
  2. As everyone else has already said.Absolutely stunning.I know its irrelevant but how many hours work went into building 2467 please.
  3. I've lost my layouts extension lead to the Christmas lights. No more running for a while.

Yes the Modelmaster ones are over £9 a pair.If I keep 4003 as Lode I'll still need some.Thank goodness neither of my daughters names are also on the list of Stars.

..end of the disc - YES.

..end of the payment - NO.

I'd be quite happy for it to be the other way round.

Apparently it'll cost 5% more to collect via direct debit over 12 months rather than a one-off payment. I can't complain, as 5% of

  9. Just browsing ebay and came across these two items for those who missed out on the first releases. No connection with seller. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-00-R3127-Class-72XX-Locomotive-No-7202-in-GWR-Green-Livery-/181275864050?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2a34e22bf2 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-00-R3166-Star-Class-4-6-0-Loco-4018-KNIGHT-OF-THE-GRAND-CROSS-GWR-Green-/181275888972?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2a34e28d4c
  10. Looking again at the drawing it's a GWR standard 6' x 6' corrugated iron hut.No mention of lamp.
  11. Looking at your prototype photo above The one from Dart Castings looks a lot smaller in comparison. The MRJ drawing says 6x6 ft. http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/dart/L1.php
  12. Soon will be that time of year again when the family takes a trip to Arley to see Mr C.Been doing this trip for years and is very enjoyable especially as there's usually some Western steam available.Last year we had 7812 so what will 2013 bring.... Look at that soot stained overbridge.
  13. As Hornby have decided to model their Star seats in the up position they could be a prime candidate for a driver use.
  14. I do find them pleasing to the eye and have one myself built from the Dart Castings kit and painted in the stone colours.
  15. I've found a drawing for these in Great Western Journal 35.The drawing is dated 1904.

You're welcome Rob to have a play with my image in post 1052 to come up with one of your masterpieces.
  17. Is the 4mm driver figure currently on ebay this one on the left Rob ? http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/montys/MSV20.php
  18. I'm sorry I can't help more but an email to these http://www.steampicturelibrary.com/ regarding your station and period might reap rewards.A query on the GWR E-list might be fruitful too.

Next up... Revelations about the religion of the Pope and the toiletary habits of bears...

  20. Thanks Dave.As it stands it is for me too but it's for a good cause with Steam. The Churchward cab is crying out for a crew but Hornby have modelled the seats down unfortunately. Anyway that's a job for the new year.A final few for the weekend as 4003 rounds my familiar Devon red soiled cutting to the fiddle yard.
  21. My club has it's problem with it's owners SISU and is well documented but our owner hasn't quite come out with this load of trollop to it's supporters. We've had a ground move to another town but not a name change yet. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25174266
  22. What a wonderful excuse to use in the following photos of 4003 'Lode Star'.An anniversary excursion to Plymouth perhaps. More anon.
  23. Well here's Tommy Traddles wondering what that monstrosity is poking out the back of 4003 as he gets her ready for a 'Star Turn' this aft.No bogie change, coal, crew ,headlamps or detail pack added.Straight out the box Hornby.
