    You're right I'd forgot about the weekday Herald trains.Never been on them.Arley is hardly a prison.Beautifully decorated with a brass band playing carols whilst you queue to see the main man.The SVR have it done to a T.Roasted chestnuts and mince pies.Western steam ....

    They only do the weekends and keep it quiet but there's more than one Santa available. Usually speaks with a West Midlands accent too.The grotto is in an old post office van.

    The January issue of BRM has a very detailed review by John Emerson of the Star and includes the message that Hornby have offered replacement bogie wheels for those who want to change them.

    The museum had problems with the online ordering system over last xmas period.I had to ring in early January to confirm my order had been placed and it hadn't.I received mine two weeks ago.Can you ring them even though you're in the US ?

    Thanks again Tony.I think the tricky part here will be guessing the length to stick the goalposts out so they don't cause bufferlocking on the coaches.

    If I glue the copper clad strip to the underframe as shewn using Devcon, when I solder the .5mm wire and 30 amp fuse wire cause it to come unattached or won't it affect it if I'm quick with the iron ? Just a thought on the order of doing it.
