  1. The law of sod at work as today I've been informed via MREmag that Brassmasters have released a detailing kit for the 42xx/72xx which includes a replacement cab back plus other refinements.Too late perhaps for 7200 but others may benefit from the heads up. A prompt email informs me the modeller has to form the rivets on this etch. http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/42-72xx_detailing.htm Walked past their stand on Sunday too.
  2. Buy the BR black one instead and move your layout's goal posts Mike.I do it all the time, it's fashionable.
  3. Is loving the look of a black dukedog.

Me too, but I'm in the wrong region (again...)

  4. Fair play to you Miss P.I just wish one of us on here had noticed the spokes on the Star as well.
  5. They were to attach a cab sheet onto in bad weather.
  6. No they just like spending my money although I did hear they worked The Royal Duchy for a time. Black suits them don't you think.
  7. Thanks but that link isn't working.
  8. I tell you what. When Bachmann first announced they were doing this model I was not that bothered as I knew the prototype was highly unlikely to be seen in the West Country. Having seen one in the Bachmann cabinet yesterday and now Andy Y's photos my opinion has changed.I want one come hell or high water ! Newton Abbot must have had one.....
  9. I'm there tomorrow with a shopping list and some cash from my beloved swmbo. The wife's gave me some too.

Did Steam give any inclination on when the rest of them will be dispatched.I've heard nothing on mine.Glad you're happy with it Ian.
  11. More of the 7200 sat on shed all coaled up and ready to go. Hornby have had a bashing, rightly so in some instances, in recent times but with a bit of work their models can turn out quite nice. It's a shame I will have to turn to the blue box company for something to put behind her.
  12. I have plans for a bigger shed one day but not at the moment, so no it don't fit ! I've tweaked that handle now and I think the footplate looks better now too.More gentle persuasion.
  13. It's been a bit quiet on here of late but all changes with a visit this afternoon to Tigley Junction shed where we see newly arrived 7200 getting ready for her duties. I've decided on reflection to not change the position of the route code.I know it's wrong but I feel I'll muck the weathering up by removing it from the cab now.I'll fit the correct headlamp and off we go...
  14. Talking of grumpy, has anyone heard from 2manyspams recently ? I've missed his charm and wisdom.
  15. If you want to know the price you can't afford it.

If that's the case then Hornby's research would have lead them to a number where the tender attached was conclusive and matched what they were going to use on the model. With their previous my money is the production model will be the same as the decoration sample Mike. Are you going to have another chat with SK on Saturday.

Nice to see they have 9400's bufferbeam number on the 'right' side of the coupling.
  21. Probably old news but the Bachmann shunters truck has left China and should be in the shops soon. http://www.mremag.com/news/bulletin.asp
