Very true Ian but I wonder how much song and dance there would be if it had happened on a bogie for a model of Mallard or Flying Scotsman assembled by those Chinese/Indian/wherever workers.
  3. Just been rereading this thread. Resistance might be futile as I've just found out they are doing the 45xx prairie. My favourite tank engine.I heard he'd joined Dapol but I assume he's keeping Lionheart too. http://www.lionhearttrains.com/news.php?page=news

The Bachmann Colletts are in post war Hawksworth livery so no but that's all I've got for mine at the moment.
  5. Thanks David. You've made me blush. This more of a GWR club than a modelling thread. What a fabulous photo Mike.Great Western at it's zenith. An instant recognizable location.
  6. I've never seen a small prairie with a tender before. 3205 perhaps ?

No but I've just heard that Simon Kohler has thrown a sickie for the weekends Wycrail show. I wonder why.
  8. Very good. How much would that go for do you think.A nice item. The offer was made to 2Manyspams to run his stock on Brent but he's too busy with BCB and other projects it will probably happen next year.Assuming he wants to of course. Its gone quiet on the Star thread but Andy Y is on the case.I don't think the BR version is available yet.
  9. I know your game Dudds. So you can make a killing on ebay. It would have to smell of lavender to be authentic too.
  10. The trick or treaters didn't like my chocolate covered sprouts.Yum.

I believe that Andy Y is in contact with Geoff Davies at Steam,Swindon.Lets see what he has to say on 4003 because I'll bet he's as disappointed as the rest of us with this.
  13. Whether they are easy to change or not Bob,I should not need to do it on a purchase costing £150.Would you put new wheels on a car just driven from a showroom ? Lets see what Geoff Davies at Steam has to say.
  14. At this moment in time I'm not amused by what I've read.Waiting for a phone call from Steam about my 4003.I'm thinking maybe Billy Smart might ring first.. I'm hoping Geoff Davies holds them back personally.
  15. I must be getting old.I'm finding 3 links fiddly to assemble.

I've got to watch what I say here but I can as it seems to me that Hornby spend more time getting things right on Eastern projects. The last three Western engines and I've have bought them all ,have glaring errors or assembly problems on all of them that my confidence in buying anything Western is falling rapidly. For a model costing £150 to have the wrong bogie wheels when the prototype is still available ,smacks of incompetence to me.

They don't seem to have any problems doing the Eastern prototypes like the P2.
  18. OT Mike.Trying to pm you but your inbox must be full as it won't accept it ! Sorry to post here.

I wonder how many of those were sold as a direct result of seeing them being available via this thread.
  22. I thought I'd give these some praise as I ordered some MJT coach buffers last Friday and received them today. No fuss.Website is excellent with Paypal too.Usually visit the stand at Warley but if like me you visit on the Sunday the chances are what you want will be sold out.
  23. I don't think it will ever be finished.I spend too much time on here. Thanks for that heads up and they are doing D602 'Bulldog' too.Whether its the same livery in the photo ,dated 1960, I posted I don't know.
  24. Anyway back on topic and I need someone with a bit of diesel knowledge on here.Warships, the NBL versions.Inspired by this photo find of a double header with 4098 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370924240305?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I assume the Bachmann model is wrong for use in this modelling opportunity.D602 was Laira based at this time.Where's the 'out of my comfort zone' button. http://www.railblue.com/pages/In%20Depth/hydraulic_pioneers.htm
