  1. Its like the top of my head when the sun catches it,in this case the lighting rig for the photo. Yes there is a gap but its accentuated due to the curve but I must do better.
  2. A bit of an eclectic mix of photos converted to grayscale... At least Arthur and Augustus are sober and was it really back in March that I first introduced them to this thread.
  3. Yes me too and closer inspection of the nameplate reveals it has lining too ! Are the details on the Hornby 5205 class correct to model 5239 before preservation ?
  4. My eyes are drawn to the delicious motive power in the shot and I hadn't noticed the box till it was brought to my attention.Fabulous work all round.Incidently, how popular would a RMweb member's visit to see this layout be I wonder.
  5. Whilst I was holidaying in the South Hams I thought of you Alan when I spotted a 'Tally Ho' coach on its journey between Totnes railway station and Kingsbridge.I'd love a model of one from the early days of that company. It would also be nice to see your characters catch a train to Brent.
  6. Back on topic and I really must get round to taking some fresh photos but in the meantime here's some more b&w conversions of whats got before.I need your help in what you'd like to see motive power wise in future photo sessions. Seeing the banner above from BRM's current issue with the superb 'Hungerford' in has made me yearn for more coaching stock especially as the new Star is imminent.I've seen that layout in the flesh and its rolling stock is mouthwatering as well as the excellent scenics. The way they've modelled the lineside fencing is a work of art and deserves an article on its own.Very inspiring.
  7. They made a song called 'The caravan of love'. A big hit in the eighties.Sorry Stubby.
  8. Those of us who remember the late 70's with fondness will like this clip for Harmony hairspray as used above.Great scenics by the way. Is she or isn't she ?
  9. That's a funny looking window etch .How's your box coming along on he other thread Chris ?
  10. Not a cheap day out for the family either at £13.50 for adults .I enquired about the footplate trip, next year maybe, and its one way on the loco and a return trip in the saloon including a guest. No shovelling but I saw a guy taking backhead shots whilst waiting at Goodrington on 5239.Fabulous to go over those Brunel viaducts though.
  11. Another name for the pub I suppose.
  12. It was also nice to see the coal fired paddle steamer on the Dart in the shape of Kingswear Castle.Sorry about the poor photo.
  13. Spent some time on Goodrington Sands beach last Thursday and took these snaps of Goliath whilst enjoying the sunshine. It was certainly busy both on the beach and on the trains.
  14. Quite right Nick but 99.9% of the P&D customers are holidaymakers who wouldn't know or care. The coaches are named as well and were quite packed even on a sunny day with everyone on the beach. If Hornby do a tie up with them ,hardly likely,I'd buy a model of 5239 for sentiments sake even with the inaccuracies.
  15. Yes the plans are all posted up on a wall in the museum but I didn't get time to read them fully. An excellent restaurant /model shop took most of my time up whilst I was there including a signal box visit. A cracking line.
  16. 5239 'Goliath' taken at Goodrington Sands station.
  17. We stopped off on the way home from Goodrington just for a browse as the kids were probably sick of seeing steam trains on their holiday. Disappointed to see the diesel instead of 1369.Thursday was the best day as we sat on the beach whilst 5239/7829 strutted their stuff.A very nice holiday. You must have been one end of the line and me the other on the SDR .
  18. Blimey Mark so was I ! I was at Buckfastleigh this morning and saw the LT pannier and took a couple of shots.
  19. Definitely not and I have the photos to prove it and will post them later.I must admit to wanting to model 'Goliath' as she stands with all her inaccuracies.
  20. Back from holiday to see Bale potentially being sold for £100m and my club Coventry being liquidated for the sake of £250,000 with a ten point deduction. That's football for you.
  21. I've seen both the GWR 42xx and 52xx preserved locos in Paignton this week and they have the rear bufferbeam number on the left side of the coupling as Hornby have modelled it.My 72xx is the same so can we assume this is correct on these three classes going against normal GWR practice ?
  22. Back from a holiday in South Devon.What have I missed ?

    1. Mallard60022

      Mallard60022

Nothing. All very boring and unexciting. Nobody took the Finching sisters out and only Arthur Swidger got drunk!!!!

  23. I'm just back from the South Hams and the board saying 'Somewhere Special' isn't wrong.Took a few photos of preserved steam to follow.Never saw the Finching sisters.
