  1. Yes but its the 4mm version of this http://www.jimmcgeown.com/Wagon%20Kit%20Pages/GWR%20Hydra%20Road%20Vehicle%20Wagon.htmland might not still be available. Just found this superb photo of 6814 'Enborne Grange' at Kingswear in '47 with lots of coach variation.Very nice and was down there just last week. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GWR-6814-Train-at-Kingswear-1947-/141035090347?pt=UK_Collectables_Railwayana_RL&hash=item20d658b1ab
  2. A lovely summers afternoon and a few more photos as 4547 begins the journey down the branch. I think I've found a favourable viewpoint.
  3. Very nice work all round Mark.Did you put any weight inside the GPV or is it underneath.I find Parkside kits very lightweight in build.I too like the way you do your colouring, very effective.
  4. Back to GWR days and better late than never. The farmer in Kingsbridge finally gets his new tractor repainted in the proper{!] shade of blue ,thanks Mike and is being delivered by 45xx class 4547 on a leisurely Sunday afternoon. I really must get some proper couplings for that toad though.Instanters if I'm not mistaken. One thing the painter mentioned was the cost of a tin of Humbrol paint now at £1.70. I can remember when I was a teenager [Airfix kits]these tins being possibly less than 10p back then.Maybe I'm wrong but how times have changed.
  5. Finally painted my Fordson tractor the correct colour.Hopefully.

Footie.Tomorrow is the blackest day in our history and probably the lowest attendance since 1928.

  6. The local young trainspotter can't believe his luck as 92220 'Evening Star' gets checked by the signal at Brent.A view here from the bank by the overbridge not usually shewn gives a glimpse of the rear of my parcels train.I do like the Hawksworth coaches in maroon.Headlamps toned down too.
  7. Just been reading Stephen Dimmock's letter this morning on pristine white headlamps.Looking at ES and others of mine I think he's got a point.Having not seen mainline steam in action were they really covered in filth .Easily toned down with a cottonbud and weathering powder,if remembered. http://www.mremag.com/news/bulletin.asp
  8. Artic Roll or Vienetta for pudding.God I spoil myself sometimes...

He clearly likes 1970s desserts. Hope he checked the sell-by date :-O

  9. Apologies for the quality [mobile] and its not a portrait but I couldn't resist posting my youngest daughters photo of 5239/7829 taken from the beach last week at Goodrington.
  10. Wow those photos of ES were popular but was it because it was late crest BR period or because Mr Clarkson posted them. Either way here's some more of the same train.
  11. Putting on my best 'Jeremy Clarkson' voice, some call them 'spaceships' and some have come to know them also as a 'Finching's swooning machine' but I know her better as BR 9f class 92220 'Evening Star' and here she is on a down parcels in the summer of 1960 heading for Plymouth.I don't know for sure whether she ran over the South Devon banks in BR days. The rolling stock comprises of Hornby Hawksworth full brakes and Bachmanns GUV/Mk1 BG full brake .
  12. You need to wait till November 5th to paint those Parkside gunpowder wagons.
  13. Fabulous modelling Mikkel.I particularly like the 'Farthing' lettering and how you got the transfers to sit down nicely, something I struggled with on a Coopercrap cattle wagon I built. How long did this diagram last in service ?
  14. Lovely work as usual Mark especially the paintwork on those wagons. There's a housing estate being built on the former site where your tractor was built. So Fergie tractors weren't always red then and all thats missing is a glass of cider for those figures.Bring on the GWR...
  15. I thought I'd take a few new photos that shew off the fiddleyard a bit clearer as it seems to have caused some interest. It also has a backscene [Totnes] but has faded badly in the years since fitted and I will probably replace it soon with another from the ID range to match the one I did recently. The line nearest the baseboard edge is wired for two controllers so using my Gaugemaster combi I can run a train independently of the other two up lines and park up at the engine shed or run it in on a rolling road etc.The track is ballasted as I did the rest and is Green Scene 2mm in various colours mixed.
  16. Very much so and so easy to replicate with the available Monty's casting.Excellent work Al.
  17. Ex GWR 15xx class 1501 at Coventry Colliery in 1967. 6017 'King Edward IV' at unknown location ,possibly Swindon 1957.
  18. Yes and I've ballasted it .It has only 6 roads [3up/3down] which is really quite a squeeze for my stock needs so a lot of my stock has to be stored in drawers underneath and brought out when needed. The roads can hold an eight coach train if needed. As you can see I've modelled some houses alongside it too so maybe I can't call it a fiddle yard as such.
  19. I've just realised that some of these photos are with the old faded backscene on so maybe I need to take some fresh versions with the new scenery in place.
  20. 50,and I'd like to put on record a thanks to all the regular contributors on here and for everyones likes etc.I wish I could give you something new to look at. Yes I know and its unbelievable really although sometimes it feels like a GWR/WR club meeting place than a layout thread.Anyway I digress,I'm not a big fan of overall shots but as you asked nicely Dave especially for you warts and all.The third one I'm pretty sure I've not shown before.
  21. Marriage is like a pack of cards. At first its all hearts and diamonds but eventually you want either a spade or a club...

  22. I thought Elisabeth Taylor held the record of being married 7 times but Allan has beaten it with his 11. Seriously ,great modelling thread.
