  1. Thanks for the heads up Mike and I'll certainly be inspecting the one I've ordered before purchase.Sorry you received a dodgy one.QC is poor. I have the Hall but lack the info on what LMS coaches were used on those expresses Steve.
  2. Hornby has made a Rod Stewart Pullman set for him.I thought his layout was HO !

Well done to Rod, I loved the fact that getting Tornado out of her box was more important than anything else lol!

Loads of coverage today on radio and TV. Suspect Look North today could be at York!!!!!!!

  3. I have been reliably informed that the Hornby Great Western liveried 72xx's are available from stockists other than Hornby,so you'll soon be able to see something different on this thread loco wise.I'm hoping this weekend but we'll see.If the Star turns up as well we'll have a plethora of goodies to admire.Fingers crossed. In the meantime here's 5049 'Earl of Plymouth' on the down Royal Duchy.Again.Sorry.
  4. The Great Western livery 72xx's are in the country as there's one on ebay so hopefully mine will be here soon. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R3123-2-8-2T-GWR-Great-Western-Class-72xx-Tank-Locomotive-7202-New-Boxed-/360688620266?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item53fab792ea http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/1238_1_20627.html
  5. Here's Jims O gauge version. The 4mm version was under the label pocket money kits and was a reduction on the same artwork.I'm not sure they're still available but I'm sure an email to Jim would find out. http://www.jimmcgeown.com/Wagon%20Kit%20Pages/GWR%20Hydra%20Road%20Vehicle%20Wagon.html I've already been told my colour is the wrong shade but I need to know the correct number Humbrol/Revell shade to repaint it.I used French blue.
  6. A nice sunny evening as 4547 approaches Tigley Junction just as 2884 class 3864 passes with its coal train. The yellow growth you see is meant to be gorse and was inspired by the use on the layout 'Treneglos' amongst others. Its the only southern item you will see today.
  7. Still no sign of the sisters but here's a lovely sight at Tigley Junction shed tonight, as its quiet and the sole engine 6814 awaits its next turn.
  8. MISSING PERSONS. Two ladies from South Brent going by the names of Flora and Minnie Finching.Possibly early 50s and slightly batty and definitely easily led possibly to men of eastern leanings who don't drive engines on their proper side of footplate.Flora is known to love wearing a pearl necklace. Please feel free to enter your own caption and there isn't a reward for their return.
  9. I haven't got the destructions but Springside give the correct Humbrol number to used if I remember.Glad to change it if given the new shade to do it.Nice memory Mike. Plenty of images on Google by the way. Just checked the Humbrol chart and I'm pretty sure I've painted it No 14 French Blue.At least its not LNER garter blue !
  10. Back to GWR days and a 45xx leisurely shunts the yard before departing with its single coach. A farmer awaits his brand new Fordson Major to be delivered which is sitting on a nice Hydra alongside the rebranded beetle.4547 shunts the wagons before he removes the toad from the previous trip, puts it in the siding and run rounds to rejoin its coach for another trip down the branch.... Another brown vehicle of mine although credit here is to its builder Mozzer Models of this parish from the Connoisseur kit.The tractor is from the Springside kit built by me.These were brand new tractors in 1945.
  11. I'm glad you've seen the light and I'm sure you'll make a top notch job of it too.Nice variation on the colouring of the brickwork.
  12. I'm not a big fan of the double chimney myself but anyway a few more before we go back in time again to '47.
  13. A few links here to 6015 in service and a few more photos of her in action in the summer of '57 on Brent. http://www.warwickshirerailways.com/gwr/gwrw398.htm http://railphotoprints.zenfolio.com/p608550011/h182C7D63#h182c7d63 http://railphotoprints.zenfolio.com/p608550011/h390A2C24#h390a2c24 http://www.steampicturelibrary.com/low.php?xp=media&xm=413743 http://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-diesels/5639922739/ http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/articles/railwayphotos/page5.htm
  14. Right ,do you want more of the summer of '47 or '57 or preferably both but not at the same time obviously. You only sing when you're winning.
  15. I meant to ask you young Spams but have you got an up to date photo taken from the same spot as that photo I sent you recently of Hellandbridge.Just want to compare.
  16. Found myself in a strange town.Though I've only been here for three weeks now.I've got blisters on my feet, trying to find a friend in Oxford St.
