  1. A tale of little and large and we start with kit built 1366 class 1368 shunting some coal wagons before joining big sister for a double header after running round them over the crossovers.
  2. A few more and the promise of an unusual pairing coming in the next set as anything goes on this particular Sunday morning.Purists look away later but now.
  3. It might have now but the photos of her in the 40s shew her with the same.Nothing wrong with 7202 but she weren't at NA in 1947 thats all.
  4. This takes me back to March when Andy Y popped in with his new 42xx for me to post some photos [poor] for a laugh. Here we are now in July and from the same viewpoint with a new camera I take some of my 72xx. More to come later.
  5. Apologies for a straight out the box sequence but I couldn't resist and we've waited long enough. This is my anniversary present for last August. It will be renumbered, weathered, crewed, coaled and the smokebox dart replaced but in the meantime... A few more of 7202 on a train of private owner wagons.....
  6. A new visitor is seen this lovely summer's afternoon in the shape of the new Hornby 72xx 7202.Seen here at Tigley Junction the driver has made sure its stabled far enough back to assist any photographers in making sure the water tower doesn't meet the chimney.OK Spams. As can be seen the rear bufferbeam number is the wrong side but apart from that its great straight out the box.
  7. Time for some retail therapy me thinks and I'm not paying.

      Very good.

  8. I wouldn't have thought Bachmann were that far down the road with this model to still make the various correct adjustments for an accurate model.
  9. I have a photo of 7200 in early BR days taken at Laira with nothing on the side tanks.Perhaps its too filthy to see one.
  10. For some reason I thought they shared a ground.Now there's a thought...
  11. Its a very long time since we had gates that big for league games. Its not just the clash for football but don't the rugby club share their ground too. I assume it was Leicester and I bet Shilts was in goal then too.
  12. Anyway back on topic and I'm picking my green 72xx up in the morning.Fingers crossed its a good one.Just been reading Miss P's excellent article again and I'm annoyed that the number I want ,7200, had whats described as 'non standard sans- serif style of hand painted lettering' in my time period. This of course won't be available as a transfer G W R so the usual will have to do. http://gwr.org.uk/no-heavy-tanks.html http://www.7200trust.org.uk/photos.aspx?cat=inservice&photo=091113220.jpg Photos in due course.
  13. I don't think an email to Scalelink would bear any fruit either.I'm surprised Captain Kernow hasn't chipped in yet as he's the man on model signal boxes or maybe Gravy Train of this parish could help.
  14. We do now and its Northampton Town. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23163594 From my layout room I can see a 32000 capacity stadium going to be unused due to incompetence all round.Soap opera or farce . Have a listen to the John Sillett interview it made me teary eyed I tell you.Whats gone wrong with the beautiful game in this country.
  15. Hornby are doing this in their range http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/1408_1_1609047.html Are these new tooling coaches.
  16. I bet you were itching to change that smokebox door handle too.Do you get a bag of bits to fit as well.
  17. Do you know something we don't there Steve ? My layout is supposed to be post war so I can't use the Hawksworths but the Bachmann portholes might be a possiblity but I don't think they were they were ever in LMS livery as described here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/46371-Bachmann-lms-porthole-coaches/
  18. Any 'foreign' coaches must be in pre nationalisation livery or they don't run.I have my share of mk1s for the Western named trains in '57
