  3. Used to love Carstairs junction, coming up from the south hanging out the window with the anticipation of what loco would be waiting on the Edinburgh curve ready to back onto the portion. Here are some photos from the 1980s A bit of a rare beast for haulage 47369 gets attached to its portion at Carstairs. 20124 and 47292 at Carstairs c.1984 47292 was awaiting its turn to drag a portion to Edinburgh and was equally rare at the time been an IM Immingham based loco. A few Class 20's from the 1980's 20048 + 47483 Stranraer Harbour 13/04/1985 The class 20 had arrived overnight with 1S06 2110 Euston - Stranraer, from Ayr and was returning to Ayr with Glasgow train. Hard to imagine today but we passed this over and had class 40 40122 with a relief service to Carlisle instead 20064 20030 20118 at Brighton 02/05/1987 with the "Three to the Sea" Railtour. I think this is a great train for the modeller 20208 at Haymarket (Edinburgh) c.1985 Cheers Steve

At the moment I'm gathering bits so far 4 male and 4 female banana plugs, red and black bus wire, 4 x adjustable feet, 1x G clamp and a bridge to cross my stream.1 x 18" by 3ft rectangle baseboard on order and I am watching Tim Horns development of the curved board as a potential future purchase... but.... With it been Summer covering bods at work who are on holiday means I will be working nights for the next 12 nights so wont be making a start until after then. But I'm still into the concept. Steve
  19. Hi just thinking ahead to when I actually get to the stage of nailing some track down is their any reqirment (even if just good practice) to solder the track ends to two countersunk screws at the end of the modules? Thanks Steve
