If you don't want to solder there are snap connectors but they all looked pants.  That's not to say you won't find a decent set 👍

Thanks - I'd been wondering about the cross baseboard connection.  Obviously these are just inserted into the cut tape.

      Tim Dubya

Yes, I soldered mine as you can see, the other ends are just a push fit with the tiny 4 pin plug.  Tim will supply your boards with a hole cut in the lighting pelmet as standard (if you choose that design).

  2. A new revelation to me is shrink wrapped pallets, never had a delivery in this new format before.

Of course, it being Friday afternoon and me not having a knife to hand, it looks like a Monday job to me 😜

Have a lovely weekend people 👍

That's what I did in my first job!  Shrink-wrapping pallets of bagged dried milk powder at the creamery.  Put the big bag over the top and used a big propane heat gun to shrink it on, then add the strapping to hold it the load together (which you needed to, I think it was about 700kgs on a pallet).

    4. Tim Dubya

      Tim Dubya

Ah, that's how it's done.  We used to get them in bog-standard pallet wrap until now.  They're wrapped so tight there's no strapping, just a sheet of hardboard on the top of the boxes 👍

Douglas Adams said the dark must be faster, because it's always got there first.

Absolutely Captain, it's all got rather dreary of late, one could almost say monochrome (if one had one's teeth in).

  19. So.... having lovingly spent the afternoon chopping up an Airfix min (my first) to play with detailing (?), I now realise that I have destroyed everything below the sole bar and I do not have the correct etched W irons, springs or oil boxes to replace them...  like what I fought I did.

I thought I had them but yes turns out I have LSWR, BR Plate, BR Roller, RCH (both patterns) but no BR oil.

I've fired off an order to EMGS for two packs of 3 sets now, but having destroyed the springs and boxes, I am a little lost as what to do until I have enough things for a MJT order... if they do BR oil boxes.

      Cheers my babber.

I have actually got three sets of Billy's brass jobbies (and the mineral underframes) but I'm building my way up to 'em, having not played with my sticking and gluing toys for a couple of years.  I thought I'd start simple with the Airfix mineral but got carried away.

I've ordered some EMGS dubya-irons* today (I expect to find the 10 + packs I must already have tomorrow) but what I does need is springs and boxes :(

      * see what I did there?
