  1. We shall never know, because the project was deliberately stifled
  2. We'll send the toys around! (not me, I'm a lover, not a fighter).
  3. I think I've lapsed into a coma or two whilst reading the section on the Brighton in Mr King's latest book, and I've only just reached the 54 footers!

  4. Cheers, I have his contact details from CLAG's supplier.text. http://www.clag.org.uk/russ/supplier.html
  5. You Know You're A Man - Captain Beefheart
  6. Hi I know that Mr T of PPP doesn't have any web presence and, quite sensibly, no email but could anyone point me in the direction of any online retailer that sells his products? I will, of course, write with an SAE but I'm not allowed out* again until next weekend to get some "stamps" (whatever they are). Any pointers gratefully received. Cheers, Dubya. *also quite sensible for reasons other than just covidia.
  7. Sounds the sort of place that has an old geezer, with paint and brush, to update the population level on the village sign. 556 btw
  8. I have just purchased a fine selection of door handles, grab rails and droplight grills in a variety of flavours from Mr Roxey. I was very much tempted by the Markits (lathed by midgets illegally, I suspect) offering but @ £7:95 for 16, I felt that, although they have collars for ease of fitting, they were a tad expensive for my taste.
  9. My old man said just the other day, when we was trying not to catch each other checkin' out the ladies whilst staring at Portland, that the Southern never cleaned their engines, unlike the other lot who always did. My old man loves a Q1, whatever state it's in.
  10. Ok, what do you want for him in exchange? We need him back or we'll never know what's going on down!
  11. The city of Wells is very close by but I can't see any other details on the wagons from up here. The nearest (rail connected) collieries to F-rome and Wells would be around Coleford and Radstock, both on the North Somerset to Bristols, so I guess access to the Cheddar line would be via Witham or Yatton. I can't recall the names of coal merchants around the area but I'll have a gander in the old mans books on my next visit. Cheers
  12. All this GWR stuff is making me nauseous, and now I'm thinking that I might actually think about Drummond Black Motors... I think.
  13. Three of my two favourite things in one sentence. Having had a lucky escape on a eBay bid (for an ex- SECR pull push set by Roxey, that I only realised I had in the stash last night, but from Blacksmith). I might have to get myself another B4... thanks for reminding me I needed another Porcy. PS: Nearest cider farm to Wookey these days is Roger Wilkins at Lands End Farm, Mudgley. Not the sort of drink a Northerner should tackle head-on, so to speak.
  14. Fear not, I take my chances on the eBay, at least then I know I'm being fleeced upfront On the Toplight front, the only mention I can find is from Slaters March 2020 catalogue, with NYA next to it. Even us Southern boys want them
  15. Cooper-Craft have them... http://shop.cooper-craft.co.uk/index.php?cPath=60_67 He's also got the Blacksmith range too, don't forget... The bastard!
  16. Some quotes from "Zen and the Art of Building Maintenance" “The place to improve the world is first in one's own heart and head and hands, and then work outward from there.” ... “You are never dedicated to something you have complete confidence in."
  17. is still trying to recover from the joke at the end of yesterday's Kernow newsletter

    1. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

I'm still trying to recover from seeing an ice cream van come up our road just now, melodiously warbling for some custom that unfortunately didn't materialise.
