  1. It's been pointed out to me that this is just about 1/64 scale, so if any S scaler wants i, drop me a PM and it's yours, gratis. It's modified Matchbox Fiat 1500 from 1960s. Bare metal respray plus wheels and interior from a Carama Merc A Class. Added sun roof too. steve
  2. If anybody wants it for an S scale layout, then all they have to do is drop me a PM and it's theirs. steve
  3. You are right on A30. Ain't no Saab steve
  4. Long tailed tits have at last returned to the feeders after a long absence. steve
  5. Dug these out as I might use them on the layout. The forklift is a Matchbox with new wheels, mudguards and driver. The Tranny is just weathered, added interior detail and new plates. The Fiat 1500 is an old Matchbox again but with a bare metal respray, plus wheels and interior from a Carama Merc A Class. The patch on the roof is where the 'roof rack' was ground away and a masking tape 'sunroof' added. The Fiat is probably slightly out of scale but placed correctly it doesn't look too bad. steve
  6. The Chiltern Model Railway Association (CMRA) acts as a clearing house of the type mentioned for its members. One of its functions is to do just that. https://www.cmra.org.uk/ steve
  7. As I was walking along to the garage to collect my MOT failure Pug 407SW (broken rear coil spring) a Daimler Double-Six Coupe wafted silently past. Looked in great condition but pity about the turd brown colour. steve
  8. That's it! Sorted in 2 hours, the power of RMWeb. Thanks Jack. steve
  9. I picked this up at Mansfield show the other week. It doesn't have a maker's name on it and I wonder if the experts here might know. It's a and has sprung trucks with plastic wheels (Which will be replaced)!) and a pretty basic under frame. Any ideas? Thanks steve
  10. Looks like you held the show just in time Ian. steve
  11. I disagree about the key. I found it a much more sensible place. It fell easily to hand and was more ergonomically placed. Plus, the scrotes who nick cars by jemmying the key barrel can’t get at it anywhere near as readily. Do agree about them being great cars though... steve
  12. Saabs can only be parked with reverse gear engaged. You can’t get the key out otherwise. Probably just well as the handbrakes on the ones I had weren’t wonderful. steve
  13. That coach looks like one of the very early Triang shortie Mk 1s...except it isn’t banana shaped. steve
  14. Thread crossover with Old Cars thread! steve
  15. Well the layout ran pretty well thankfully, with only a few minor issues. I have started a list of things to be done and hopefully a lot of these can be achieved before it's next outing at Howden in two weeks time. I now have a RTP Nissen Hut for the farm shop that will do for now and some instant hedging for the site. Thanks are due to Ian for the show invite and Robin & James on the DEMU stand, not only for coffee runs and operating help but for loading up. This was especially difficult due the Peugeot's rear door refusing to open! This made getting the layout into the car somewhat of trial. Many thanks guys! steve
  16. This show is a great opportunity to see a much wider spectrum of modelling than just UK outline. steve
  17. I stand corrected. Cheers steve
  18. I can hear the ghost of Corporal Jones...”Don’t panic Mr Mainwaring! Don’t panic!” steve
