    I have just realised that my teak 3rd is un numbered. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to get suitable transfers. Perhaps @cctransuk has them in their catalogue.

    Yes it was and presented by a railway modeller instead of tbe usual uninformed journalists made it a 'proper' programme. The mix of model railways with other (but related) items made for a good balance.

    Some of the locating lugs have broken off the running board. I wrote to Hattons and they are checking their spares for a replacement runnng board.

    I ordered a corridor third in teak livery purely for displaying. It arrived today and it really looks good. I'm pleased with it. However both running boards were damaged, one partially fallen off and the other completely, along with one bogie board. Looks like a simple repair though.

    My reading of the KR Models web page is that they are sold as a four car set. Unless you meant all eight vehicles coupled together. "We will be producing both running numbers as 4 car packs. There will be 2 power cars,..."

    The last time I went to Warley I used public transport, i.e. flying from Dublin. If I were to do that again this year, the plane fare is less than your train fare.

    I have two layouts in progess simultaneously, one is my attempt to do everything right: finescale wheels, flexible track laid to sweeping curves in a believable formation, DCC control and quality models with plans for good looking scenery. The other is a Hornby Dublo 3 rail layout on a flat board. So does that make me a serious modeller, toy train enthusiast, proper modeller or just a mixed up train guy? 😀

    Why? It's an interesting thread with some good posts, including the OP's observations of what will and will not run on filthy track; something that is rarely tested. @The Johnster's comprehensive post contains a lot of useful information.
