  1. Try telephoning them for advice. +1 780-250-7308
  2. It's over dramatic journalism. A well known and loved shop is closing and a popular exhibition is stopping. But the hobby is alive and well and not in any danger.
  3. Food or thought. Today the "Internet" is the model railway club. Be it social media, Youtube, RMweb etc, many people share the hobby virtually.
  4. In my case the last I will receive will probably be my pre order CIE Genesis coaches. Two days ago I purchased a pre owned Wrenn 2-6-4T in LMS maroon and a Hornby Dublo 0-6-2T repainted in BR green with "British Railways" lettering. My first Hattons purchase in the 1960s was Hornby Dublo so I felt it fitting that my last purchase would also be Hornby Dublo. Thank You Hattons.
  5. Sorry to hert this. I was only at Warely once but really enjoyed it. Best wishes to the club in whatever they decide to do. Good luck with that Andy 😀
  6. Hattons' website very slow now. Think I need to set the alarm for 3am when it's quiet!
  7. I checked and they are right out of Hornby Dublo sleeping cars and full brakes. 😀
  8. Indeed. That sums it up well.
  9. They say all good things come to an end but I never thought that would happen to Hattons. I have shopped with Hattons mail order since the late 1960s, and my Father before that since 1957. My first visit to the shop was in August or September 1973 when I purchased a pre owned Hornby LNER teak coach. Sorry to hear you are closing and thank you for being there and for your help over the decades. Colin
  10. That sets a 40 year target for the Accurascale version. 😀 Nice find @cypherman Enjoy!
  11. Pigeon trafic was very popular at Lisburn station in UTA days.
  12. Some nice items there in very goid looking condition. Note the 22% buyers premium plus vat, and also the postage charge.
  13. Would that mean that you can't use wi-fi when the train is standing at the station? 😀
  14. In Ireland 20th January 2005 all speed limit signs were changed to km/h overnight. They still drive like the clappers.
