  1. What's wrong with accepting a simple mistake stating brushless instead of coreless?
  2. Sorry but that video explains nothing to me.
  3. Hopefully such comparisions can happen without anyone needing to get involved in cat herding. 😉
  4. I meant no harm. I'll make my purchase decision in due course. Best wishes Colin
  5. Probably my bad for asking how the two models compare which is a reasonable question; a question that is relevant to this thread and impossible to ask in the other.
  6. Can anyone here please put up a link to where the quard arts can be preordered? I find the Clark Railworks web page very difficult to navigate and I can't find the quad arts.
  7. How does this Ellis Clark model compare with the Austerity that KR Models have announced? As the KR thread has been locked at birth it is difficult to discuss. Hopefully KR will send a spec to RMweb so that a fair comparision can be made before committing funds to a model.
  8. I know this is not one of the actual liveries, but I do find it very attractive in its own right.
  9. Everyone knows where the Big Apple is, but how many know where the Minneapolis?
  10. Or just leave them there and use the dishes in the other cupboard. 😁
  11. The thread drift started when I commented on the suggestions that most youngsters' introduction to railways was at Santa or Thomas events.
  12. If you are suffering from wood twisting after constructing baseboards, perhaps review the design. I use L girder construction using 2x1 flanges screwed and glued to webs of 2x1 or 3x1. This provides resistance to twisting, and also prevents sagging due to weight. Joists and risers are made with 2x1, with cleats of 1x1. I've used this method since I first read about it in 1981, and never suffered any post construction distortion.
  13. Back in the early days, when most layouts had little or no scenery it could have been said that the rtr locos and rolling stock were "too good". Perhaps we have just come full circle!
