Slow speeds are ok with a big v8 engine, I can put mine in 4th and just let it pull itself along at 20mph and still be able to plant my foot and go when needed. As far as the engine's concerned it's just ticking over as if I was stopped.

  6. Bit sad taking my layout aprt to make way for the new one It's been the best effort todate , but not quite right if you know what I mean this will be the last one as not getting any younger so if I really take my time I won't be disappointed.

I empathise with your plight as I am undergoing the same agonising process myself. I always said that my 'previous layout' would be my test piece, to try out and hone my 'style' before committing to a 'proper' layout. Well, that was 25 years ago so, although the current project is definitely an improvement, it's still a wrench to be dismantling the old one. I'm sure your 'last great project' will be everything you want it to be.

Hi Everyone Got my class37 TTS this morning and I think Hornby have done a great Job with this model ok it's railroad but you can work with that and the sound is great had it running on my layout all morning. and it only cost me £80.00 so It's a bargain going to change the body to Blue era and fit directional lighting and will be really chuffed.
