  1. I don't see any reason why not. Some of the very latest mk3's have a plastic holder and a box to place the battery in but not all do. For those that don't you need to take the body on and off for battery replacement. I have placed these light strips in mk3's and mk2's without any issue. Below is my video showing my thoughts on adding these lights to a mk3 without a strip holder.
  2. Yet another pie in the sky idea from a politician to go with the Metro plan (which does appear to have taken another step forward). https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/cornwall-public-transport-call-extra-8970904?fbclid=IwAR3TKH5qFtCwmUNIXW7DG2tQPkfa1W_9H9rLp55D0O94JqQSwGGQcc_L0wI
  3. My wife gets them via WhatsApp, this one only arrived a couple of hours before the session started I believe.
  4. Another saving session earlier today complete with about £2 off your bill just for signing up to it.
  5. We have picked up on those, they are great. Over the 4 sessions so far we have gained over £31 off our bill. We were able to use our battery to export heavily at the times required whilst also cutting out usage to absolute background.
  6. It is possible to run the wires for the speaker up through the gap where there are already wires from the switches for the pantograph. This is what I did. Getting space for the chip is much harder.
  7. In preparation for the class 71 sound files coming out sometime in January 2024 I decided to fit an 8 pin chip to my class 71. Wow, that is a pain to get it in there, particularly routing the speaker cable from the speak box to the chip.
  8. Today, in another small bit of progress I have mainly been gardening. Some tiny turnips and a lot of flowers, along with various bits of grass clumps have all been planted today. It's certainly nice to be getting to the stage where small details are being added. It's a long time since I have had a layout get this far. Feels good.
  9. Don't know if it is the photos but the majority of the BR versions seem to have bunker side numbers at a slant. Hopefully this is one of the corrections being made.
  10. Now that runs tend to be smaller I do pre order most of the locos that I want for my N gauge layout. That said I don't purchase many for this. I pre order a lot more rolling stock than locos. I don't pre order locos for my children's railway. They get what I can get what I can find at a good price, almost entirely second hand (often from auctions).
  11. I have seen photos on Facebook of the 9 coach class 800 in GWR livery that were taken at Warley today. No prices but saying a May 24 release.
  12. Keep an eye on eBay, people keep selling their unwanted boxes. You might get lucky and find the correct box for your locos or you might find a random one that fits.
  13. No, that is not the case. There have been many new sounds released but no new ones announced. What Hornby have not done is update this part of their website.
  14. From a message I have received, I believe that you can get 20% cashback eBay today only if you are a member of TopCashback. This is to a maximum of £100 per transaction). From the information I think that this is on almost all sales. If you are not a member of Top Cashback you can either follow this link https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/mr_bd (going this way would get you an additional £10 cashback once you receive £10 cashback, I would also get a referrer bonus). If you don't want to use the referrer link try this https://www.topcashback.co.uk (you won't get the extra £10 bonus).
  15. Are the bespoke numbered ones ordered direct via the Revolution website or via the Rainbow trains website. I can't see mention of these on either.
  16. Long art straws are good for forming a barrier at the side when ballasting.
  17. You can only add Hornby sounds currently. I've not seen anything to suggest that this will change.
  18. Quite a few Hornby items cheap on Amazon today.

    Peco Vanfit

That is a very flattering photo of the old chassis, it's awful from most other views. Peco achieved the "fineness" of the under frame at the expense of the depth. Many of the bits you can see are 5-6mm deep.

But compared to the old Peco van chassis it looks so much better.

    Peco Vanfit

Looks like a totally new chassis. I don't remember seeing a Peco van with a new version, I wonder if this is a sign of new models to come?
  22. I have a 60cm metal ruler that has helped. That said laying a smooth curve is a right pain.
  23. Wow, how did no one notice that happening. I bet the hire company were happy.
