  1. Today's bargain. £10 for the lot. Many of the wagons look to have never been taken out of their boxes and the vehicles are much the same.
  2. 8 at Bodmin CDA's are going to the Bodmin railway via the National Wagon Preservation group. There is also 1 going to the Plym Valley railway through another group.
  3. Whether or not you believe that their wheels are poor, this should be seen as showing confidence in making models locally rather than needing to ship them thousands of miles.
  4. That’s good to know. I have ordered a sound fitted set so hopefully it’s good.
  5. The 2p has a solid lump under the smokebox which I think would interfere and it is this would get in the way.
  6. I liked that as an idea, but having just looked at a 2P body I suspect that it would require a lot of hacking to get the Dapol chassis to fit.
  7. My parents did this a couple of weeks back and got Swanage to Norden and back.
  8. From memory it is in the members only area.
  9. I enjoyed the first episode. It showed real enjoyment, delight and enthusiasm from both Jools and Pete. This is the key to all modelling in my eyes.
  10. The book of the Castles https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=31662853080&ref_=ps_ggl_2039220669&cm_mmc=ggl-_-UK_Shopp_Tradestandard-_-product_id=UK9781906919047USED-_-keyword=&gclid=CjwKCAjwp8OpBhAFEiwAG7NaEhaZS0OO7NKp4x69VU1oxOaX4aM08XiCdimMsci_o2s8tC_25owksBoC64UQAvD_BwE
  11. It would not be an easy task as the track height is different which would make the packing of the point essential to get the track the same height. The radius of the points is also likely to be slightly different (possibly more of a problem than the track height).
  12. Equal rites is being listened to currently.

My copy turned up today. Looks good from a first brief flick through.
  14. It will be interesting to know where the dcc sound chip will come from. Prices are a little more than previously but the difference in price between dcc and dcc ready is minimal and dcc sound is not excessive .
  15. Followed a towed horse box yesterday, keeping well back as the right hand top door flap waved about swinging between the closed position and swinging out into the path of on coming vehicles. There were other cars between myself and the trailer so I could not accurately identify the numberplate.
  16. The large gap is poor engineering. The body can be lowered and still let the 37 go around sharp corners. As to radius 2 being the minimum, radius 1 is a historic thing that should be phased out just like it almost has been in OO. Trying to get Peco to change their set track points to radius 2 however would be nigh on impossible.
  17. The livery suits the coaches but I don't like it on the locos.
  18. That bridge in Yarnbrook use to flood a treat (just like the one outside of Westbury) then they raised the road level. Admittedly this was many years ago so should not have played a part in this collision.
  19. The image that you have shown shows a model first produced in 1997, pre Bachmann takeover. The bright silver pizza cutter front bogie is a dead give away of Farish pool made locos along with bright silver drivers with large flanges. By 2004 this pizza cutter front bogie had been replaced by a bogie that has blacken wheels with much smaller flanges and the drivers had also been similarly treated. Strangely you model seems to have later style driving wheels (smaller flanges and chemically blackend). I wonder if someone has replaced the front bogie with an old version at some point in the past. Bachmann have not produced a rebuilt merchant navy class to modern specifications.
  20. That is an older merchant navy class loco. They were fine on set track paintwork (as were all locos produced before Bachmann took over in the 2000's.).
  21. Very much so. Several of my Dapol locos and Farish locos hate them.
  22. If you want to run steam locos stay away from set track points. Quite a few of the larger tender locos (and some large tank locos) don't like them at all.
  23. Your starter for 10 on worn out coaches is this fantastic example of a coach from a class 221 (221134) on it's way from Penzance to Edinburgh. Coach C is certainly in need of a refit. Dirty, stained bent and cracked would be the observation of almost all the seats in this coach. Do you have any examples of worn out rolling stock on the network today.
  24. Royal Mail collection service is generally quite good as the postman just collects in the morning. That said I tried to use the service a couple of days ago and Royal Mail were not offering collection so I had to take the parcel to a local post office (thankfully one of the remaining sub post offices is open until 11pm).
