  1. that is really nice do you have a thread or a blog or something where you discuss its build or the layout it goes on?
  2. LOL......you know you and Mrs Sasquatch have an open invitation to come and stay should you ever return 'home' and have the time to drop in. I promise not to cuff you.....have fast do you run? My girl (dobermans) would willing offer you some exercise.......feeding them biscuits is sneaky and frowned upon except by the two dogs in question who will then badger you incessantly for attention LOL. I have found most dogs responding to 'baby talk' although admit that this has not stopped me getting bitten when i was a child on several occasions.......however eve rsince i was a kid if i was missing my dad just found the closest dog.....and then usually had located me. I love dogs, and having seen yours I am sure you love yours too. Kara our larger black one really enjoys David Todds visits cos she gets extra long walks. Anyway despite the threat....you are probably safe....................
  3. I like the darker duller colours, very photographic standard.
  4. I have not googled these against the real thing to check, but to my mind your weathering looks really good. Love the loads as well.

WOW if you end up with a layout anywhere near the quality of the 'club house' it resides in.....eventually ;p this will be one superb layout......we'll all be queuing to be allowed to come and see. edit= You might have to kick some people out from taking up permanent residence ROFL.
  6. if you happen to have photograph i would be interested, but not if it is a lot of trouble. I was checking out your thread just today your work standard has improved immensely recently clearly having the opportunity to show at Warley resulted in you really focusing on the layout, superb effort. When you finish schooling and college/uni you might want to look around and use your work to see if you could move into do mockup for scenery for architects etc, checking out of course that it still has a reasonable standard of pay and a future considering that computer imaging has taken over a lot of the market.
  7. I too would love to see this in the flesh. Especially have followed it for some time, you have a feel some how you have invested in it, even though you have had no input and only come to admire the workmanship. It would also be nice to say Hi in person. . hopefully it will eventually go somewhere that we travel to. Meantime I will happily drop in and see updates on both your own and the clubs work. Cross fingers all the handsets work on the day......(having a spare, or a controller that could work two separate areas in case one goes down might be an idea. Ours can now be run off iPhone apps which makes life a lot easier.
  8. The next time i come to put down ballast....I will be re looking at these photos, The variation is amazing. And it i surprising how the light diffuses and gives such shadows and reflections....your picture from above...... I wonder if using a standing lamp you could even attempt to copy this. Lovely reference photographs, and the fact that you can place them makes them incredibly useful for reference re time period and place. Do you have any pictures where the locos are pulling mixed livery? I.E. Older out of date or another Companies? I have taken some of modern instances, and know they must have occurred. If you have covered this and I have missed it between visits I apologise in advance.
  9. That water Really cool attention to detail on the last picture for Goathland Station The water pump you modelled, after I noticed the discrepancy really looks so good. With your range of skills you put so much of the correct detailing in, and the weathering brings it to life in my opinion. Plus cutting and change poses on figures makes them so much more modelling rather than bought in items. A real class act........ shame I won't see you at a show here in the UK any time soon......so I can give you a cuff round the ear........LOL.
  10. OH....... and I notice you have cleverly put the building that bridges two levels in, and put it together for a check run....to ensure the windows etc line up. So much more classy to test it out, than do lots of work and find it does not fit well. Smarty pants ;p.
  11. It is really interesting to see this build up.......I am sure that what at the moment does not look anything other than some very nicely cut board....will in time have the capacity to awe you as with Backup. looking forward to seeing this progress. Edit= I swear I typed BACUP......stupid spell checker lol
  12. And I take your point over the bloke......a train must cause some serious 'drag'. I have noticed when on the motorway that large lorries can cause 'drag' when they pass you or you pass them.....In fact I have had 3 incidents where the big boys have hit me!!! One let me out in to traffic and a couple of minutes later tail ended me!!!!! another pushed me off the road at a roundabout catching me with the middle where he front and back wheels were in lane but the body had crossed into my lane...it pushed me up against a metal rail....I raced after him......he did stop....surprisingly he had not marked my car....not even a scratch.....just shoved it up on the kerb........ I know there was 3 but never remember the other incident. anyway there must be a drag potential....I will move him to a safer spot.... The missing part is elusive at the moment as is not unusual with small pieces ;(. I daresay I will find it when one of us stands on it and crushes it!!!!!!!
  13. I can go get the crane...... if only I can find it!!!!!! 1173 I don't think it has had an outing since the old Goathland / Heartbeat was ripped out and updated.
  14. This was Kals Christmas present from my dad 3911 he took it out of the box to put it on the layout for me to photograph and dropped a bit.......i am just about to go search for it....wish me luck!!!!!!
  15. ;p the one Kal renumbered 3930 an untouched GBRF...so it came weathered 3931 the one I heavily weathered 3932 this one has not been modified in any way yet....so looks a touch plasticky 3933
  16. Kalboro...all that track and not a train in sight...... 3927 well maybe off in the far distance something there just out of focus 3928 to be honest up close the coupling is a dead giveaway 3929
  17. Kals mum did the same everything he ever had a child gone........ I have bought him all sorts to replace things he had or things he would have liked.
  18. OKaaay.....I took more than a couple ;p 3919 3920 3921 3922
  19. I mentioned planes...no planes so far..... trains....no trains so far..... and automobiles......well you had a glimpse..... but thats very ist,,,,,,,travelist? 'cos I had a look at boats..... well this one is a yacht..... 39163916 BUT this one is indeed a boat... .3917 The blur from the sun gives a lovely haze so good I took a couple of pictures to make sure at least one was really cool.... 3918
  20. I added some over on the bare back yard area 3914X I bough the brick walls and repainted them some time ago...Jarvis I think. I mean to file the slope so they sit better....some day I'll remember to actually do it.
  21. I went upstairs to work on the Christmas scene, I removed the shops at the back and popped up the train buildings.....but it was cold...... so ....I took some quick snaps around the place and retreated...... This one has had a tree added.... 3912xmas2014 now remembering, all the buildings are plonked on the surface ...and the 'snow' is hiding this...... what could look better? making the tree trunk look less stick like....I only just pushed it in further to have the branches hide it....how the trunk appears thicker is quite beyond me.....but I am smug anyway 3913xmas static perhaps??? edit= there WAS a piece of 'snow' clinging to the roof in the first picture which looks like a small icicle or a water droplet........ Those fences will ned to be weathered at some stage too, luckily they do catch the light nicely.
  22. we do not have a box, BUT there is some of the green fencing and a few farm animals around some where in a felt bag. Am I wrecking them by painting them??? I do have some old 80s paint....but the animals would look really naff. Our family are serious pack rats, nothing gets left behind if we think about it.I have three Pelham puppets in their boxes from when I was a child, only the rubber bands are no good. The mummy dragon, baby dragon ad the frog in clothes are all good. The plastic is somewhat loose on one box, the other two don't have plastic windows. We have plastic dolls from when I was a child. I never did Barbie or Sindy which can be quite valuable. I have a couple of china dolls made after the Henry VII series came out. and we have a bunch of records. My brother has good condition Beatles, 2 are rarely rare.My grandfather was a bin man, not called that in those days and he found all sorts of stuff thrown out from a coup of large houses near where he lived and worked. My aunt has a fine bronze chariot and horses with just one broken rein. I have a nice marble and slate mantle French clock from the 1890s (not valuable according to the clock maker, because they are out of vogue, but he said look after it and in another 20-50s you never know, its only like 300£ at the moment) I have a large set of Planet of the Apes magazines, not particularly valuable being UK produced. BUT my brother has a massive collection of Superman with single digit number copies. A couple have sold for silly money. My mum taught us to look after our stuff. My brother also has an extensive set of American army vehicles and metal boats mostly sent or bought back by an aunt. They go in and out of fashion, ten or twenty years ago (when old cars were worth a mint...big cars like E types) those boats were a nice collection but the bottom fell out and the price sank (yeah yeah too many Puns) I collcted Beanie Babies, for the workers when I was in London, and the two newsagents I bought from used to let me have the rare ones as I bought literally hundreds for myself and others. Two of the rare Princess went across to an American Colleague, she kept one (I told her she could) and put the other up for auction for charity she made a couple of thousand bucks. She also had a rare blue elephant from early on, but had played with it as a child, and its value was diminished as there was no tag and it was obviously used. BUT it was her pride and joy. A good one went for over £5000. My grandmother remarried and her husband throw out everything he could to do with my grandfather.....included about 12 clock work trains, by the time my mum found out they and family pictures had been put out in an old tin hut......both had succumbed to the wet and were not worth saving. The trains had been in boxes as well!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I laughed so hard....I had to consider a trip to the loo..............
