Flashback to 2004 when Midland Mainline ran their ‘Project Rio’ trains from London to Manchester utilising off lease Virgin HSTs making for some colourful mismatched rakes! -

My small diorama I’ve nearly finished building to photograph my collection on, based on a midland region branch line in the 1950s / 60s. -
There’s enough LNER Mk3s for people with power cars to run 30 coach rakes! A re-run of the EMT HST would be great, the prices have gone mad!
-
I think it will run with the old Virgin trains east coast MK3s (Red & White) as I believe most of the ex-East Midlands Trains Stagecoach MK3s have now been scrapped.

My shelf layout I built over lockdown last year, based on a Midland region branch line terminus, now currently dismantled awaiting rebuilding slightly differently. -
That looks excellent! Top job I myself was also confused that Hornby released another run of VTEC Mk3s but no power cars... like you say no where has them in stock to buy new yet the market still has many Mk3s in that livery sat on shelves in model shops. Maybe they’ll surprise us with a mid year announcement...

Looking good! I positioned the transfers where I needed and gave them a light coat of satin varnish with a brush, I thought I’d give one a try with a brush and if it didn’t look good then I’d take it back off and have a go at spraying them but I was presently surprised how well it came out so I did the rest

Hi 60800, I removed the old transfers with a cocktail stick and some white spirit, put the transfers on, masked up some straight edges and gave it a light coat of satin varnish to replicate the look of a vinyl overlay. Cheers Adam

43159 is no longer rusting away at Long Marston!...it’s now at Burton rusting away instead. Here’s a picture from December 2020 I’ve found online. It would make a nice display as a pair at York nicely painted up as the fastest diesels in the world

I’d love for Hornby to do a set with 43102 and an EMR red one, but as they are being retired in May this year Hornby will probably of forgot all about it by the time they come to announce next years models I hoped Hornby would have announced a red EMR HST for 2021 but as they didn’t I had to create my own...

Short HYA, by Accurascale

Graffiti project anyone... -
The way things are going with Hornby I wouldn’t be surprised if in 5-10 years time the only place you can buy a Hornby model will be directly from their website, at full RRP, hence more profit for the Margate group...

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Northmoor MPD replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Unfortunately these don’t fall in the era I model but WOWWW!!! Accurascale you really are pushing the boundaries, the detail and finish of all your models are excellent, it shows what can be accomplished with hard work and an attention to detail when designing your models. Looking forward to more announcements and models from you in the future. Best wishes Adam -
I finally purchased a Freightliner 66 last week after years of considering it (and after hearing the horror stories). It arrived the next day and I was instantly impressed with the weight of the parcel. Upon unboxing It I thought the model looked excellent with massive amounts of detail. It ran super smooth on test with no issues what so ever. I am aware that problems may arise in the future but for the price I’ve paid I can deal with that, I’ve gone on to order two more in DB livery this afternoon. I think for £119 it’s an excellent model.
-
I can only think it must be down to Accurascale showing pictures of the MK5s have made people order both, other than that I don’t know
-
A little bit Naughty... if all model shops behaved like that I’d never be able to afford to buy anything!
-
Ahhh I see what you mean! Thanks for clearing that up I’m new to this modern era modelling!

It seems that 032 has gained a logo on the front, pictures of it from DRS days and early on in its repaint into TPE it doesn’t have a logo but there’s several photos and videos online with a front logo, that’s if I’ve understood your point correctly
