  1. Here’s a few pictures of my NCB Chaldrons in the wild, still very impressed with these models. Surprised how small these are every time I open the box!
  2. Grabbed the micro layout out of the loft this evening and gave victory a little test and I must say I am super impressed with this model 👏 Runs super smooth straight out of the box, can negotiate the tight corners of the yard no problem and the colour of the locomotive fits in with my black and white themed layout perfectly! Top job PI, looking forward to the next model!
  3. We all know the model we really need is… Flying Scotsman!!! Serious note though: Midland spinner 😝
  4. Looks like the newly tooled MK3s are due in stock shortly, looking forward to seeing if they are any good!
  5. Amazing how fast the red box company can turn out a locomotive to “get one over” on another manufacturer… Maybe one day we’ll see the models they announced years ago…
  6. Ah ok, must just be me who’s got lucky with my 3 packs then! As you were, I’ll get back in my box 🤐
  7. I can’t see that they would make some couplings out of non ferrous and some of of ferrous metal so I don’t believe it’s a batch problem at all. I personally think that when the model is being thrown around in a parcel by a courier the chain can be thrown around so that it could magnetise to the pin holding it on, in a real life situation on a layout the coupling is never going to defy gravity and stick upwards / backwards onto the wagon. I think it was an observation by a customer when they opened the box but isn’t a problem with the models at all. Cheers, Adam
  8. Thanks chaps! The images are superb, I must admit it’s veryyy tempting…
  9. Anyone managed to have a look at one yet? 👀
  10. My first pack arrived today (2 more in the post), I went for the NCB triple pack. I had read that these wagons were small but I don’t think I quite appreciated how tiny they were! I’m super impressed by them though, the packaging is superb complete with Accurascale’s excellent prototype information and detailed assembly drawings. I’ve included some photos I’ve just taken of my set and I hope these show how good they really are. The couplings are a great innovation and despite what I’d read they do work really well, yes when I took them out the box the magnet was attracted to the top of the coupling but once this had been separated it doesn’t magnetise back to the pin during normal use/running, they work just as shown in the Accurascale video. These wagons are a must for anybody with a micro layout! Well done Accurascale for pushing the boat out with 00 models again, we’d of never have seen anything like this from the ‘big’ manufacturers. Hope you all find the pictures useful :) Cheers, Adam P.S. The coin in a 10p piece for size comparison.
  11. Excellent video and an impressive model! Genuinely tempted by this, would need to build an O gauge layout though 🤔😁
  12. Looking forward to this one! It looks fantastic!
  13. Yeah I obviously wasn’t being completely serious… Of course they’re going to release them at some point, just saying it’s odd it’s taking nearly 3 years to bring them from pre-production samples to a production run!
  14. What a coincidence 🙄 Theyll dock on payday when I’ll just have to order some more! 😂
  15. Hornby posted photos of the pre-production samples in the October 2020 issue of the engine shed. That’s some serious delay!
  16. I’m honestly beginning to wonder if we’ll ever see them! The decorated samples were shown maybe 18 months ago now? Surely the demand for these must be quite high, I recon another manufacturer could start these and still beat Hornby at this rate!
  17. I’ve used them for a few years now (I’ve got a couple in the spare room still to build too!) Here is a few images of layouts I’ve built: The first images are of a branch line terminus I built, this was built on 3x large baseboards joined together. The second set of images are of a layout I built early this year of a wagon repair depot modelled in the snow & in black and white, this is modelled on the smallest baseboard they make. Hope these help 🙂 Cheers, Adam
  18. Still looking forward to Accurascale announcing a DCC sound fitted horse to haul my Chaldron wagons… 🐴🐴
  19. Let’s hope so, with a little tweaking it could be an awesome model…and at a fair price too!
  20. Absolute winners in my book would be: Steam: 1. LMS 8F -Plenty of livery variations (LMS, WD, BR &NE) There may even be a market for the Turkish modified ones. 2. L&Y A class. -Ran around right until late BR, pretty little locomotive that I know a lot of people are hoping for (although I could see Bachmann having a tackle at this one with the success of the ROS Mc Intosh 0-6-0, let’s hope Accurascale have a go first ) Diesel: Class 43 HST - The amount of liveries and operators would keep the releases going for years and even Hornby “all new singing and dancing” version is a massive let down. Industrial: Something like “Malleable no:5” at Beamish would be good, just to haul my Chaldron wagons 😁 Cheers, Adam
  21. Rails of Sheffield have just uploaded photos, they look nice, not sure they’re up to Accurascales standards though, they look a little ‘toy like’ but I could be wrong.
  22. Whoooo EMT class 08! it’s ‘N’ gauge… Doh! 😫
  23. More mainline steam, this time from the LNER. Heres 4472 accelerating along the ECML.
