  1. Rather cheeky of Olivias trains...looked this morning they were £155 & £160, just looked again now and they seem to have ramped the prices up to £180!
  2. Olivias trains have 10+ of each apparently, £155 & £160
  3. I was thinking I’ll get one later when I finish work yesterday as they had 10+ in stock at kernow, logged on last night to see they’d all gone! Couldn’t believe it.
  4. Tony’s trains of Rugby have them in stock now.
  5. People jump to call out Hornby for copying Hattons/Cavalex/Rails announcements but I would image working in a similar sector myself that these projects have been in the pipeline for years, you don’t gather all the info, go over technical drawings, create 3D models, cut moulds and produce decorated samples overnight, if Hornby have already spent hours researching these then they wouldn’t want to let them slip away to another manufacturer. I could however be totally wrong but I guess we’ll never know
  6. An interesting choice, as said before the Bachmann one is a “good enough” model but I have often thought it could be much improved. I believe that if Hornby do a quality job with the detail levels to match the current Princess and Duchess models then they may be onto a winner, there will definitely be some excited people if they follow up with Tyne dock variants in the future. Cheers,
  7. Damn no EMR red HST, strange they would do more MK3s in LNER livery when there’s plenty of these in stock in model shops around the country...unless I’m missing something. Nice to see the Blue Pullman HST being done though, £500-600 for the full train though!
  8. My Christmas present arrived today courtesy of Tony’s trains of Rugby. Cracking little model, very impressed and worth the wait. Now apparently it’s got to be wrapped up and sent off to Santa
  9. Whooo! I’ve waited many years for one of these in RTR!
  10. Just had a look on the rails website, looks a very smart model, looking forward to getting my hands on it. I just need to build a layout for it to run on now!
  11. Sad news! I really wanted the Cavalex “For the Fallen” and the “Battle of Britain” locos, I don’t even model electrics or indeed that era. Probably won’t bother with the Hornby one now either, plus they won’t do the BoB one again as they’ve already done it as a limited edition in the old tooling. Shame
  12. Excellent work! Looks very realistic, top notch modelling right there! Cheers, Adam
  13. A busy post man has dropped off hattons brilliant new ICI hopper wagons and Bachmanns new class 66779 evening star today. Here’s a few pictures of them on the layout, although the layout is set 60 years before the 66 was built I still couldn’t resist a few pictures
  14. My locomotion 66779 arrived today, Cracking model, that gloss coat of paint really does finish it off and I’d say looks more realistic than the standard release. Here’s a few pictures of it on my layout, I haven’t yet added the bell as I didn’t want anyone getting upset by it... The bell will get added when I do the nameplates, I’ll do my best not to cry about the shape of the bell but then again it’s only 5mm tall so I think I’ll be fine! Cheers Adam
  15. My hoppers arrived today! First impressions... WOW! Stunning models, waited many years for these! Very fine detail, the rivets etc are some of the best I’ve seen! Well done to Hattons and oxford! Must get my weathered ones ordered now! Here’s a few pictures on my layout... Enjoy! Adam
  16. Great model of ropley, you’ve really captured the preservation scene, well done to you
  17. Nice! I like! Bank card is about to take a pounding!
  18. 3 pristine versions ordered! Once I’ve seen the weathered ones I’ll be ordering another 8-9
  19. Thanks chaps! Glad I’ve been able to prompt you James! It’s exactly what I did, noticed my boxes of stuff in the loft and thought I need to do something with this lot! Once it’s completely finished I may start on a similar sized extension
  20. Thanks for the kind comments Here’s a few more pictures now the sides of the rails have been painted! Enjoy! Adam
  21. Getting closer to completion... An ex LMS 3f tank shunts a box van out of the goods dock and into the platform to join a 20t brake van then departs with a short freight and the morning stopper calls at the station consisting of an ex LMS 3f tender Loco and a couple of mk1 coaches, seen from the bridge.
  22. Afternoon all! It’s been a while since I’ve done any modelling but nipping in the loft a few weeks ago and seeing an unused Tim horn 3ft by 1ft baseboard and boxes of buildings and stuff I’d not touched for years I’d decided to have a go at buildings a micro layout. Here’s my attempt... a fictitious country station with a goods yard and a coal merchants yard set in the 1950s/1960s. I started the layout 2 weeks ago so all this has happened in 14 days on and off after work. I’ve included photos from the planning stage up until the point I am at now. There’s still much to do: Various bits of painting and weathering, steps to build to go from the bridge to the platform, goods yard to finish, painting the sides of the rails and more detail to add. I’m pleased with how it’s turning out and I’m looking forward to having a play once it’s finished! Hopefully next week. I’ll post more pictures soon once I’ve done a little more to it... Cheers Adam
  23. Just ordered my locomotion models 46229. Many fond memories of it sat in the NRM next to mallard pre streamlined...again! Can’t wait for it to arrive! Fingers crossed next year for a BR green “City of Salford” with crewe yellow stripe and a hint of weathering!
